Apparently Misery was slated to be the next book under Richard Bachman before he was killed, so it makes me wonder: What existing King stories do you think would have been published under Bachman if the secret had never come out?

When did they 'let the cat out of the bag' so to speak?Apparently Misery was slated to be the next book under Richard Bachman before he was killed, so it makes me wonder: What existing King stories do you think would have been published under Bachman if the secret had never come out?
I just got a copy of this one this weekend at Value Village - I will have to crack it open!...I think The Dark Half would fit that bill....
Hey, don't make it sound like a bad thing.I just got a copy of this one this weekend at Value Village - I will have to crack it open!
It's a first edition hardcover 1989 Viking Penguin - in very good condition (wow - I am starting to sound like kingricefan )
Not at all - it's a great thing!Hey, don't make it sound like a bad thing.
Joyland? - that's an interesting choice - I thought that Bachman was more of the "dark side" of Stephen King and Joyland is a bit of a mystery and a coming of age love storyJoyland has the feel of a Bachman book, I think. And the Bill Hodges trilogy.

If he had not died of "cancer of the pseudonym" or whatever that wasI'm thinking Joyland would be the product of an older Bachman that has become less bitter and cynical with age.
Yeah, my mind went to FDNS and The Dark Half. Misery, of course.Full Dark No Stars, Misery, maybe Gerald's Game
Yeah, you threw me a curveball with Joyland, bro, LOL.I'm thinking Joyland would be the product of an older Bachman that has become less bitter and cynical with age.

You have me there...nah, I got nothin'.Well, I thought Blaze was an unexpectedly touching and beautiful piece of work, so I figured mebbe the cancer of the pseudonym got to Bachman and he was kinda mellowing out a bit before the Reaper came calling.
There's no law that states that you can only have one of each title of King books in your possession.......just sayin'. I have duplicates of almost every one.Not at all - it's a great thing!
So I just went and looked and of course I already have a first edition The Dark Half in hardcover - so now I guess it is one to keep and one to either lend or just try to keep in pristine condition.
You don't have a husband who comes home and questions why I have more than one copy of any bookThere's no law that states that you can only have one of each title of King books in your possession.......just sayin'. I have duplicates of almost every one.
No, but my cat gives me 'shade', does that count? You don't have a husband who comes home and questions why I have more than one copy of any book
I suppose it is better than having an addiction to booze or cigarettes, eh?
