It seems like there are so many tie-ins to this little Maine town! I envisage a show similar to Haven, but with a much MUCH darker tone. Ever since I read 11.23.63, I thought a series dedicated to Derry, Maine (and hopefully not butchered like 11.23.63) would be awesome. Especially if it tied in all the little story arcs from all the associated King books!

But what would the MAIN storyline be about? I think Haven works, because the mystery of the Colorado Kid wasn't resolved in the book - so that keeps it going.

If you're going to take just bits and pieces from all books that take place in Derry, don't you still need an overall storyline?

The first use of Derry was apparently a short story, The Bird and The Album. It was never collected and I can't find a summary, anyone know what it's about?

'The Bird And The Album' is an excerpt from IT, slightly different than what appeared in the book but nothing to quibble about.

...as Kingrice said, it was a "trial balloon" of sorts that eventually was folded into the novel IT....

...from our own website here:
The Bird and the Album (This is an excerpt from then unpublished novel IT which was distributed as a souvenir book of the convention.)
That's interesting. I was already wondering why he would put out an excerpt from a book published a whole five years later. But the object was not promotion of a new book apparently, but a way for him to gather opinions.

Welcome. I think your idea may have already been done. As for me, 11/22/63 was very much not butchered while Haven just got confusing.
I found the series generally very well done, but the fact that they butchered Derry out of the storyline really disappointed me. I think it was probably the second largest story arc involving Derry (less aiT of course)!
