Do you keep your pb in a sandwich bag and if so why?Curious.
They're not sandwich bags, luv. :D The bags are actually made for paperback collecting. They come in different sizes. I got them at a comic book store. I should check Amazon as I'm sure they are available on there. I used to put all of my books (both hardbacks and paperbacks) in such bags to protect them from dust but the larger ones discolored with age and looked bad after a few years. It sure helped with dusting!

Ok I keep my all in glass door book shelves so they are covered. Would I need to still protect them with the bags?

Hey kingricefan - any idea how much a first printing paperback of Carrie in good/VG condition would be worth?
Is it the one with the gatefold? Does it open up to reveal the town on fire? Depending on the condition (if there are scratches, no creases to the spine, no other type of marks or writing) you might see $20 or so. I've seen them on ebay before and they don't go for much. Unless you had a signed one......

I would put the paperbacks in bags. Paperbacks are made with cheaper papers so they tend to not age as well as hardbacks. I'm assuming that you use brodart covers for the hardbacks so no need for bags for those.

Yes - that one. But probably more on the "good condition" side, I guess. And I wish I had a signed one! :)

Over the years of my thrift store wanderings I have found numerous copies of this book. I have found a couple that have been in pristine condition. Given the age of the book, it's hard to believe that copies are out there that have never been read and are still in perfect shape.

Is it by T.E.D. Klein? If so, it is a very good novel. Klein used to be editor of the revamped Twilight Zone magazine back then. He has not written a lot of stories/books, which is a shame because he definitely is talented. As far as I know, he's only written two novels and one story collection (Dark Gods, which is an excellent anthology).

Yes Ted Klein the author of The Ceremonies I have

I was surprised at how cheap the books are there - usually Value Village will charge me a lot more than that! Any news from the lady with the book collection?
Hope she sells them to you without asking for an arm and a leg :frog:

Hi Neesy She said she would be back next Friday and would get back to me then. Have a bad feeling she is going to get greedy? I guess she has forgotten
already she had them listed for a month and I was the only person that answered the ad.
