Today I found a reading copy of finders keepers - paperback, well used, nice and loose, comfortable to hold. I will pass it back in when I read it. I also got a nice tidy hardback of song of Susannah with 10 full page glossy illustrations. Only problem is its making me want to try and collect the rest of the series in matching hardbacks.

I started collecting the UK hardbacks of King's books about 10 years ago. As you can imagine, they are hard to find here in the US.

Yeah I can imagine, unless you're willing to pay twice the price with shipping from eBay. I wouldn't bother with bazaar of bad dreams though, I sigh every time I look at mine thinking how good the American cover is.

I played hooky on Monday and ran some errands. One of which brought me by the new 2nd & Charles store in my area. Found a nice copy of Thinner by Richard Bachman Book Club edition. Dust jacket is worn, but the book is in pretty good shape. They had it in their clearance bin and I'm wondering if whoever was sorting it didn't realize what they were sorting???

That's a great 'find'! I once found an original paperback edition of The Running Man on clearance at Half Price Books for a quarter. Wasn't in the best of shape but it was a 'find'!

At the library's used book sale today, I found first edition hardcovers of Insomnia, Four Past Midnight and The Dark Half (all in very good shape). Already have these, but couldn't pass them up! If anyone is missing these in their King collection, please let me know. I would be happy to gift them to someone. :)

Not me, exactly but... my hubby collects music books; that being scores and tabs. He usually finds a few every time we visit the thrift shop. A few weeks ago he found one I really like. It's all the Creedence Clearwater Revival hits. With tabs. :D

Seriously, he has a bookcase FULL of score books. I'll take a picture and post it sometime. He plays keyboards, btw, and is envious that a guitarist can change keys much easier than he can. ;)

Just got home from goodwilling where I found some treasures. I found an autographed 1st printing hardback of Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil by John Berendt, an autographed 1st hardback of Aretha- From These Roots by Aretha Franklin and an autographed 1st hardback of Standing Firm by Dan Quale (Quale actually signed it twice- once on the front page and another on one of the pages with pictures on it in the middle of the book).

That is damn amazing.

Find me an autograph Harriet the Spy and I can die happy. She's dead, so don't even know if such a book exists in the world.

Why am I not surprised Dan Quayle autographed it twice? ;)

Not a book, but I found a vintage Corning ware percolator in perfect condition :) I love perked coffee (I've been using our camping pot since the last Mr. Coffee died--we kill at least one a year), so this made me very happy. This is a pic from eBay (and I'm very happy I paid $3, not $58, like the seller of this one is asking!)
