That wasn't pit hair it was Ringo..........
I get that, we all have our things. I don't care for blond hair on men, for example. But if you read the experiences of women who have chosen not to shave, the reactions that they get from people as a whole are similar to what you would expect if you went without showering for a couple of weeks in the summer and smell rank. Or if, say, you sport some really huge gauges in your earlobes and have filed your teeth into fangs. Or are morbidly obese. It's interesting to think about why we react the way we do to something that really is very neutral and, as I said, natural. We really do place almost a moral weight on something that has nothing to do with morality or even cleanliness and is actually just the natural state for adults. And why is it unattractive for women to have body hair, yet attractive for men to? Why do we not collectively shudder when we see men with hair in their pits? In fact, what would our reaction be to seeing men with shaved underarms?I don't view it as a moral wrong.
I find it unattractive.
yes, i remember. Have any of you seen the Lice Capades episode of south park? So damn funny.Anyone remember the nude Madonna pics that surfaced years ago- she was a bit 'wooly' in those......
I think that might be a merkin.
You're correct, but it is probably the origin of the, er, trend.I think that might be a merkin.
LOL. I'm so glad I live in a world where a blue armpit merkin can be purchased. Vive le difference!!You're correct, but it is probably the origin of the, er, trend.
If Lady GaGa does it, it *must* be cool.
So now women who don't know what a merkin is are bleaching their pit hair and then dying it, quite possibly to an expensive tune.
...I don't find it disgusting, I just don't care for it...just as some men don't find a hairy pubis appealing and I do...not trying to be overly graphic, just as a point of illustration...How weird is that? Why in the world do we find armpit hair on a woman, a completely natural thing, so disgusting that we almost view it as a moral wrong?
Seriously, guys. That's messed up. Amanda Palmer is 100% right on with this one.
Right, everyone has a preference and a right to it. I personally cannot STAND hair in my armpits. It feels sweaty and gross, and I'm pretty sure I would shave if I were a guy. But it's just weird how societally frowned upon it is for a woman to not be clean-shaven ... I mean, really, it's just hair, ya know? After puberty, most females have a fair amount of visible body hair....I don't find it disgusting, I just don't care for it...just as some men don't find a hairy pubis appealing and I do...not trying to be overly graphic, just as a point of illustration...
I don't shave mine but I do 'manscape' them.Right, everyone has a preference and a right to it. I personally cannot STAND hair in my armpits. Into shapes? Is there glitter? Please say there's glitter.I don't shave mine but I do 'manscape' them.
LOL! Absolutely no glitter! I despise glitter- it gets everywhere. I keep mine trimmed short, that's all. Well, that and the glow-in-the-dark beads and feathers and leather strips and....well, you get the picture.....Into shapes? Is there glitter? Please say there's glitter.
Manscaping is all well and good, until it progresses to chest waxing *shudder* A naturally bare chest, fine (well, not my cuppa, but at least it's natural). WANTING to look like a pre-pubescent boy, not so fine. To me. LOL.I don't shave mine but I do 'manscape' them.
