Think I am going to go back through my entire audio collection and listen to first all " The Great Courses" awesome history courses spice it up with some Thomas Harris here and there and then maybe "Talisman" and "Black House" combo with a chaser of "Eyes of the Dragon". I also want to give a 2nd read/ listen to " No Country for Old Men". "the Orchard Keeper", my Collection of Burton and Swinburne books, and "Legendarium" by Kevin G. Summers and Michael Bunker.
Find it helpful to have read a book ...before I listen to one, but I am interested in getting some suggestions on good reads.

I finished The Wayward Bus by Steinbeck today. It was a pleasant read! Quite funny in some parts- and no turtles crossing the road. Think I'll start something with more bite to it now- some thriller or horror novel.
No turtles? How bout a dead grandpa with coins on his eyes?

The turtle to Mama Joad: I'll be all around in the dark - I'll be everywhere. Wherever you can look - wherever there's a fight, so hungry people can eat, I'll be there--turtle soup! Wherever there's a cop beatin' up a guy, I'll be there, sneaking up on his ass to do my wicked turtle ninja moves. I'll be in the way guys yell when they're mad-- F you turtle! I'll be in the way kids laugh when they're hungry and they know supper's ready--kill the turtle! hahahhaha! Kill the turtle! hahahahaha!, and when the people are eatin' the stuff they raised (or ran over in the road) and livin' in the houses they build (out of turtle shells) - I'll be there, too.

Found a book I had not read in my library " The Stranger Beside Me" about Ted Bundy, began it this morning about half way through not to bad the author had a more interesting book on the green river killer also seemed to have better structure and flow. I am not really into the whole true crime thing unless things are presented in a more clinical way. Weird that I can not stand the sight of blood and over empathize with victims, yet I enjoy horror and am fascinated by the macabre and curious about the criminally insane. I think I am going to finish this and then move on to "Revolution", by Russell Brand (I started it and dig what the man has to say and he is funny). Then I will return to "The Great Courses" and the list above. If you have not ever listened to the series of history lectures that "the Great Courses" offer and you love history like me I would be glad to recommend some.

I rec'd my copy of Dr Sleep, so I'll put 11/22/63, which I've started, on hold because I really want to read Dr Sleep.
Pick up 11/22/63 again when you are done - I think it's a very good book - well, so was Doctor Sleep. I just found the love story of Jake and Sadie to be quite sweet.

One of the books I got for Christmas was Ruth. It's a Gone With The Wind prequel. It's all about Mammys orogins and how she ended up with the Robillards. It is very well written and clever in the way it also introduces the O'haras and the Butlers. If you are a GWTW fan I highly recommend it.
Who's the author?
