I started The Wayward Bus by John Steinbeck last night. Looks like this one might actually be a fun read! Lots of humor in it (and no turtles crossing the road-yet!).

Krf,(((xxaniexxx))) Hey, girl, you know I'm here for you, right? I did PM you before, and tho you did reply, I felt it was kind of a brush off, so I didn't persue it. Thought maybe I had alienated another friend with my big mouth? I'm not one to pry into others business and/or feelings. Please know that I am HERE for YOU! You've been a good friend!! I do miss seeing you on here and seeing your witty posts!! I hope things will begin to turn around for you and that the new year brings relief. I hope that there aren't any lingering effects from that accident you had a little while ago. Always know that I got your back, luv. Always!!
Danie, you know where to find me. I wish you all the best in your trials ahead. Know that I (and many others) are here with extra wide shoulders for you to lean on. Know you are loved!!Krf,
The only thing I "hear" from your mouth is kindness and humor! I'm sorry I didn't get back with you after my last PM, truly. Things in my life don't always give me time to do what I really want to be doing, like talking to friends like you...posting my thoughts and feelings on this board...carefree things. So if I'm not around, just send me a carefree vibe or even two! You don't ever have to worry about alienating me--I'm just not that way. You guys are my refuge in time of trouble, and I count on you to be here for me. Your post made my day much better. I think the new year will bring only more heartache, but I am strong and will make it through this.
Isn't that a wonderful problem to have?!That's my favorite of hers. I found a bunch of "Tabby" hardcovers at a thrift shop but haven't ready any of them yet. Too many books, not nearly enough time....

Finished Tabitha King's Pearl last night, now I'm about 60 pages into One On One. My last book of 2014 is turning out to be a good one!
I'm only about five chapters in. Been alternating between Boy's Life, a Firestarter reread, and of course, Nightmares and Dreamscapes for Discussion Group! I'm enjoying it immensely, though. McCammon is truly an extraordinary writer!morgan . . .how's Boys Life going for you! I love, love that book. So many little stories within the book!

I read "Joyland for the 2nd" time last summer and would give it 3 out of 4 stars, Just finished "Angela's Ashes" 3 stars (4 star movie, I will have to read again as I listened to it on audio and want to see what I may have missed),recently read "World War Z" (3 stars),"The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead" by Max Brooks (3 stars),Some of the Walking Dead "Rise of the Governor " and a few others in that line are ok I would rather just watch the Walking Dead,"Allison Hewitt Is Trapped: A Zombie Novel" 2.5 stars , "the Hunter" by Richard Stark. 3 stars, " Fire Break" 3.5 stars. Just this morning finished listening to "American Psycho" 3 stars. well written, I however would not suggest it to many people as I struggled with some of it being over the top and graphic when it could possibly have been restrained(maybe). I love the movie and found the humor worked better there... I will re-watch the movie I will not read the book again. I think I need to move on to something more uplifting or enlightening.I've got a few I'm currently working on. The audio of Joyland, Essence of the Dhammapada and Writers Between the Covers.
The last two were wins at LibraryThing.
I loved the "Shinning" and "Dr. Sleep".Let's see... I am rereading The Shining. I am also reading No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai as well as The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan manga series.

I should clarify my post. It's frustrating when life is so chaotic that we don't have time to do the things we are passionate about-like reading! The blessing comes in having books to look forward to reading in the future and that my favorite author keeps publishing novels for me to get excited about!
To me her novels are even better, except the short story The Lottery which is a masterpiece.Reading a collection of Shirley Jackson short stories. Pretty solid. To me, her endings seem to be hit or miss.
