I finished both The Burn Palace, by Stephen Dobyns and Love and Other Impossible Pursuits, by Ayelet Waldman. The former is a riveting story about a town seemingly being taken over by an evil force. And the latter I read as an ebook and if you get a synopsis its usually short and thin on detail. It begins as a caustically funny story about a woman who is stepmother to a precocious five year old and quite suddenly the rug is pulled out from under the reader....but that's all I will say. Ms Waldman constructs the narrative beautifully. It was an emotional roller coaster of a read.

I am a bit split eyed at the moment. Reading The Dark Half by King, Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons and Ancient Americas by Nicholas Saunders. They are all great. Depends on the mood which i dip into when i read but it is OK. I can read three books at a time without mixing things up.
