I think, and someone correct me if i'm wrong, that he played the bad guy, Bane, in the last Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. Perhaps Danie is one of these that needs a bad boy.......?
He's been a lot of movies, most of them pretty damned good (I'll except This Means War, but that was mainly Reese Witherspoon. She was atrocious. Tom Hardy and Chris Pine were pretty good, in a mediocre movie. Would have worked better as a 'bromance', if they left her out.)

He did

an amazing job in the movie Bronson.
Bronson, Warrior (I didn't know anything about MMA before that one), Masterpiece Theater's Wuthering Heights, Locke (criminally left out of the Oscar nom for that one), The Drop, Rock a Rolla (one of my favorites), Tinker, Tailor Soldier Spy... so many good ones. All kidding aside, he's good looking, but he's also a really good actor; absolutely unafraid to tackle any part, wholeheartedly.

Von Ryan's Express (1965) - Frank Sinatra

Available on netflix. Good WWII action flick. I was a little skeptical when I saw that Frank Sinatra was the lead in this but he did good. I laughed at one part when there was a dead body to get rid of and Frank said, "get this stiff outta here." It struck me as funny because it sounds more like gangster movie talk that WWII movie talk.
Have you seen him in The Man With The Golden Arm? That one will let you know that he really could act :)

To my chagrin, I haven't seen Golden Arm. I've seen Sinatra in Manchurian Candidate, Ocean's Eleven, Guys and Dolls, which I love, and A Hole in the Head. I saw Hole as a kid with my parents who used to take me to the movies with them. I didn't like it, partly because Sinatra slapped the redheaded kid.

Okay then! There's a British detective series that I think you'd LOVE. It's called Whitechapel. The first season deals with a modern day Jack The Ripper, but the second season was about the Krays, and the guy who plays them (sort of) is freaking amazing. I seriously thought it was twins playing the parts, he did the characters that differently. The third season was a mix of a couple of different cases (one dealing with London After Midnight was completely creepy!) Hulu never got the fourth and last season (damn it), but I've watched the first three at least three times apiece. And now I want to go start them again--lol. The cop characters are wonderful.

It is recorded on my DVR, but I haven't watched it yet!
Does this mean you win?
Oh, and speaking of The Drop: if you watch it, keep an eye out for Noomi Rapace's ex boyfriend in the movie. His name is Matthias Schoenaerts, and he's a damned good actor, too. If you ever get a chance (and if you don't mind subtitles), watch him in Bullhead and Rust & Bone. Bullhead has one part that is INCREDIBLY difficult to watch (in fact, I didn't. I couldn't. Closed my eyes and plugged my ears), and Rust & Bone had me ugly crying in one part, but both are absolutely wonderful movies. He's definitely an actor to watch to break into American films in a bigger way soon.
