If there is no improvement in a day or two, I'll be taking him for x-rays... depending on blood results may do so anyway.
His lollipop was multi-coloured. We snagged one for his friend too. :biggrin2:
(he was supposed to spend the day with his school friend, who was having his birthday--I felt terrible for him, as he had only invited the one friend--my boy--to spend the day and go to inflate-a-world, the movies and for a meal/play... and then some mine-craft fun. Instead, they drove us (no car...) to the doctors and blood clinic.
Poor little guys... they had been talking about it and planning it for weeks, I felt just awful. They are going to reschedule, but today was his actual birthday, so it won't be quite the same.)

Awwww, that stinks. But you know what? Kiddos are a resilient bunch and they'll have just as much of a good time when they are able to get together. Not that I need to tell you that, Momma, but just thought I'd remind you so you don't feel so bad. Don't like to hear about our Flake feeling awful.

So tell the truth......you got a lollipop too, didn't you?

I remember when I was in second grade, my best friend, Jody had invited several girls over for her birthday for a sleep over, and having a meal cooked on a wood stove....we thought that was really cool. But the week before her birthday, she got an awful sinus infection....and when I say awful, I mean that her head literally filled up with mucus, and her eyes actually swelled shut. She spent a day or two in the hospital while they tried to loosen things up so she could breathe properly.
Anyway.....her birthday came and went, and Jody couldn't have the sleepover. The following weekend, she was much better....only one eye remained swelled. She asked if I could come for the sleepover instead of everybody. My Mom agreed, and dropped me off at her house for the weekend. We had the best time. Her Mom made us spaghetti on the wood stove, and her Dad helped us build a fort right in the middle of the living room. Jody was still all puffy and red, but that didn't matter to us.....and neither did it occur to us that it wasn't really her birthday. We were just happy to be together. It will be that way for your boy and his friend......I promise. ♥

:biggrin2: I didn't have one, but my tummy was rumbling (pretty loudly) because I didn't have time to eat until well after lunchtime.
(thanks Triple O... xox )

You might be surprised. Kids are very compassionate, and this little guy knows it wasn't just a story because his family was kind enough to take you to the doc. I'd bet he was a little disappointed, but more worried for his friend. They'll have a great time when they do get together :) Think of it this way: I'm sure his family did something for his birthday, and now he gets a SECOND birthday celebration with his best friend! In kidworld, that's a WIN. (((Flakey and Little Guy))) Prayers and good thoughts for you both.

School holidays here at the moment, week two without my car. (at least it's the holidays--in theory, less walking! :biggrin2: )
My littlest guy is having leg/walking health issues again. Had to take him for a blood test today... so not fun, poor little guy.
He's a toughie though and got over it quickly... they were great with him at the clinic and gave him a lollipop and bravery certificate afterwards.

Hope you all have a great week. :)

Under your bed
Hugs.

Looks like my work will be closing soon. Owners are too damn old to keep it going. They say they'll help me get another job doing what I do, great recommendations, all that stuff. It's kind of a good thing; I've been meaning to upgrade my employment status. I've a particular set of skills that are valuable around here. I should, and could (and have) make considerably MORE money at the bigger shops. I just don't wanna...ugh...too many people, too many rules, too many D-bags in charge who know NOTHING about orthopedic metal finishing...grrr....

Off the clock. Rant over. Went into psycho creative overload this weekend, did a series of pen-n-ink illustrations for the book I'm writing. Wild stuff, didn't know I still had it in me. Can't nobody see em yet, though.

So, that stuff. And less. The Wild Turkeys are back, strutting their mob rule on Squirrel turf. Things could get interesting...

Wishing you well, Rat in your new work chapter... change can be so scary sometimes, but, welcome too. Let us know how you're getting on... and please make sure you're getting what you're worth. :)
