I take it you do the big San Diego fest sometimes, yeah? Too far a drive for me, but I've done the Wizard World con in Chicago several times. Not as big, (nor considered a barometer of audience expectations), but they get the big dogs. Met Frank Miller...well, he walked RIGHT by me, close enough I could smell Lynn Varley's perfume. Met Kevin Smith (meh), some great old comic vets, and ayuh, Anthony Daniels. Felt sorry for him--nobody was bothering to stop at his booth. Me and the sis paid our respects to ol 3PO.

Tell yez, seeing full regalia Darth Vader clanking down the halls, flanked by two storm troopers, can mess with a head hungover from road trip goodies. Kinda scary. Fortunately, we weren't the cats he was looking for.

I haven't been to the SD Con--too spendy for me. We had a great time at this one, though, and went up to meet Anthony Daniels and Scott Walker for the same reason: no one was visiting them. They were both very kind. I had my picture took with Chewbacca--I swear, I see that suit and I immediately become nine again :), and we met R2-D2 trundling down the hall right at the end--LilMan got a picture with him. Oh, and one or two of the kids with Han Solo in carbonite. If Han Solo himself were to appear, I might have died right there (lol). Talked to lots of artists, though I rarely remember names. Was in a very interesting Star Trek panel, one for Face/Off, and a MSTK3000 that was very funny. Highlight of the Con for me was John Barrowman. He was hilarious, told touching stories, flirted a lot (lol), and sang whenever possible. He was probably the best 'big' speaker I've seen--only Nathan Fillion a couple of years ago came close. Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie did a panel on Captain America, but we didn't get chosen for that one (so many people wanted in that they did it by lottery)--heard it was really good, too. All in all, we had a wonderful time :) SO many geeky people... My tribe, for sure :) I'll try to get some pictures loaded and show y'all (though I was too giddy to remember to take many).

Healing vibes pegasus216 - drink some hot tea. Have you tried the hot lemon drink you can get with the medication in it?
neocitran-coldsinus-extra.png

We tried to get this in Florida in 1984 but they had never heard of it.

It helps a lot! (and as far as being "non-drowsy" - dunno - they must have changed the formula - it used to knock me right out!)

Edit: on second thought, now that I have read about the diabetes I think this medication would be contraindicated.
Oh well - take Blunt's advice - he's the RN!

(there may even be a warning on the package about it containing 10 grams of sugar [I think]) :a24::facepalm_smiley::zip_it:
:teapot: - hot tea - that's the ticket!
It's called TheraFlu here, but the Canadian version is more potent than the US version.

WHAT???
Did you see him?
Just from a distance, as he was going to his table after the panel. He is just as handsome in person, which isn't exactly true of all the celebrities I've seen at Cons (lol). Like, Anthony Mackie looks much leaner in person, especially his face. Jon Bernthal (Shane on Walking Dead) was handsome, but SCARY in person--like, dangerous looking! Stuff like that. Chris Evans looks pretty much the same, though his hair is naturally darker than Cap, and he had a scruffy beard. A friend of mine got into the panel and said he was very thoughtful and interesting. He had some very kind messages on Twitter after his panel yesterday, too. I'm a fan :)

Chris Evans, the actor who plays Captain America.
th
I watched a WEIRD movie the other night starring Chris Evans. It was called "Snowpiercer". Ed Harris was also in the movie. Post-apocalyptic nuclear powered train movie.......not a bad movie at all, just different. Didn't mean to hijack the threat, his pic just reminded me about the movie.

Yes, I started watching it, and wasn't able to finish. I plan to watch it soon though. Have you seen him in Cellular? Old movie, about 2004 I think, but watchable thriller type movie. With Kim Basinger--always love Vicki Vale in anything.
