Ho, barkeep! A tankard of your strongest ale--none of that watery Argosian swill. I've just lopped the head from a Stygian's shoulders and crushed his serpents beneath my sanded feet. Such be thirsty work, by Mitra. (eating all this Black Lotus doesn't help, either)

It is full blown today. Sore throat started sometime last night. Did anyone get the license number of that truck that hit me?
That sounds very much like what I had. I wish I could help you feel better. If you tolerate ibuprofen (Advil) and aspirin try to get some of those in you (it's okay to take ibuprofen and aspirin together, and you need as much relief as you can get). That should help a little with the throat pain. If you're coughing get something which has guaifenesin in it, syrup or pills (Mucinex). Be careful that you don't get too much acetaminophen (Tylenol) as many over the counter products contain Tylenol. Drink as much water as you can, get as much rest as you can, and see the doc if things don't improve or if they get much worse.

I'm allergic to ibuprofen. All I can take is Tylenol.
Thanks for the advice.

Acch! I am in trouble big. Advice please.

What to do?
$200! I'd be fighting to get it back. It won't hurt to ask. You didn't sign a contract.

I'm getting sick. My head feels like a balloon, and I ache all over. This crazy weather isn't helping. My eyes hurt too. I haven't been sick all summer, but it's coming on me now. Ugh.
Hope you feel better soon Peg! I was going to suggest Advil Cold & Sinus - that always works best for me, but if you can't take ibuprofen that won't work. Lay low - stay in best, drink lots of water, eat some chicken soup if you can. don't wait too long to call the doctor - sinus infections take forever to get rid of.

Pope is in town, did ya hear?

Man, you just can't shake the Catholic outta you, much as you try.

So exciting! I wish the Pope was in my town! I am watching though, yes I am. He's so different. He's a Jesuit - he's got a mission and he's taking it seriously. Watch him go! He is of the White.

I know! I am a sick sick person. I walked out on the balcony to breathe Pope air, because he is around.

I am in no way religious, but damn.

I will be ok soon. Have not brought out the rosary yet. I do have a beautiful one. Where is that?

Come on nottie - breathe the Pope air - Catholic is contagious, though you've a previous infection, it's just lying dormant. Say a decade with me. Come to the White....

Oh god. It is dormant. I am doomed.

I am remembering plaid checked uniforms, beeenies. It's all coming back.
Piano lessons.. confessions.

I was good at confessions, I must say. I would say that:

"Father, I missed Mass once."

(Skipped it all the time for a diner and other skippers)

And then confess later that, "Father, I lied."

Forgiven for the first one.

Healing vibes pegasus216 - drink some hot tea. Have you tried the hot lemon drink you can get with the medication in it?
neocitran-coldsinus-extra.png

We tried to get this in Florida in 1984 but they had never heard of it.

It helps a lot! (and as far as being "non-drowsy" - dunno - they must have changed the formula - it used to knock me right out!)

Edit: on second thought, now that I have read about the diabetes I think this medication would be contraindicated.
Oh well - take Blunt's advice - he's the RN!

(there may even be a warning on the package about it containing 10 grams of sugar [I think]) :a24::facepalm_smiley::zip_it:
:teapot: - hot tea - that's the ticket!
