Friggy Diggy.

Still plenty of work, maybe more on the way. Just gonna ride it out, see how it goes. Feel like a nice strong Bloody Mary, no furshlugginer celery--big fat olives and pickles. That's breakfast, baby.
I can go for one of those......minus the olives, though. Man, I hate a bunch of olives. Don't give me any celery, either.....I just play with it, swish it around in the glass, and usually splash some of my drink on whoever is sitting with me.

Sundrop - how are you doing with the weather?
It's still windy and rainy, but my basement is still dry, and I think the worst of the threat will pass by later this evening.
Here's the latest from the local meteorologist, Ray's Weather. He's pretty accurate (and he lives about 5 miles from me).

Rain is the weather story today, heavy at times. Some flooding is expected, but the more severe damage for many in the region is the economic damage caused by taking out one of the largest tourism weekends of the year.

To illustrate today's problems: At 6 AM today, it has rained 12.78" at my house (east of Boone, near Bamboo Gap). We'll add 2"to 4" to that total by the time it's all over Monday (the vast majority of the new rain will be during the daytime today) for around 16" in 11 days. The rain today would not be a significant flooding threat without the preceding 8 soggy days. Additionally some gusty winds will accompany today's event, especially at higher elevations. Similarly, these winds would be nothing extraordinary for us except for the fact that trees are anchored now in very soggy soil increasing the risk that some fill fall.

Finished the last trip that I know of for a while.

Been a whirlwind four months. Four weeks total in Alaska, a week in Korea, assignments in D.C., Atlanta, the Bay area, all over Wyoming, and a work/fun side trip to Lost Wages. Been to a prison (granddaughter joked, "I thought what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas") for an assignment, housed a branch of the family during the son's training period, watched over that same son when he got pneumonia (all better now), and carried on a full-time workload here at home. Presented four seminars. Settled a big dispute with healthcare jackassery. Got some writing done and trying to polish it up for possible publication.

I am Officially Tired. I like traveling, but it's been a bit much, and it's good to be home for a while. Still got a full workload, though. Not much time to relax.

I spent my day cooking. I don't know why. I went to Zumba for the first time in about a million years. I didn't die like I thought I would. And I've felt good all day. Maybe it's time I get back to the gym 5 days a week. Anyhow, I' made: homemade pizza dough and let the kids and their friends make their own pizzas. I made chocolate chip cookies - the really thin chewy ones (with 10 oz of butter in a batch!). And I made fajitas for dinner, chopped all sorts of things, made my own marinade. I read a little, I napped a little, did some thrifting. Now I'm listening to the Orge snore on the couch and getting ready to head up to bed. May tomorrow be a good day for you all!

No zumba circle jerk I hope. You didn't have to touch anyone, right?

"Sharks...Jets...Sharks...Jets" I remember your zumba horror story. No - this particular instructor is not into that. The Wednesday evening instructor totally is, but Wednesdays are not good gym days for me anymore. She also likes "freestyle". Kill me. I just stand there waiting for freestyle to be over. I have to be told how to move it.

Aaaaaaa, I've told the thing a bazillion times. I used to love Zumba, until our perky little 18 year old instructor started having us dance WITH each other and as groups TOWARDS each other. That's it, Bob Fosse. I got sh*t to do.
And you had to hold hands and touch some other sweaty body. Grody. Bob Fosse
Wednesday night girl is perky and young. She needs to gain some weight, chill out a bit. We've had to do that "dance off" before to.
Pretty much exactly like this: I like it at 1:08 when you get to turn around. Lovely.

Yes. Only our class wasn't as young. And we had to do kick lines and run at the other side and it was just awful. Nope.
