Imagine having those delivered by the steady hand of Out of Order....She still gets very tired and anything strenuous is a no go, so as a result I will be doing most of the cooking. I have been getting prepared for it by keeping my head over a hot stove for longer periods of time each day. It has gotten me used the excessive heat and I now have a beautiful fall tan as well. There's a creepy green-bean casserole.
it's creepy because it really grows.
It just sits there by the kitchen sink,
and Man OH MAN, does it stink?!?!?!?
The other day, just as I got out of bed,
I was in the kitchen when something tapped my head.
And believe it or not!! Lo and behold,
It was the dreaded green-bean casserole!
It grabbed me and slammed me against the door,
then it pinned me to the hard, cold floor!
I called for help, and hoped I would be heard.
But, the only thing that came was the Thanksgiving Bird!
The casserole, seeing this new enemy,
went after it and forgot about me.
The bird gave the casserole a left, then a right.
Now that's what I call a real food fight!!!

Our WinCo had a great deal, just for today: if you spent over $100 on groceries, JennieO turkeys were $.37/lb! I spend more than that every week (lol), so I couldn't pass up he chance to get a HUGE turkey for a teenytiny amount of money. Not sure if we'll use it for T-giving or not, but it'll get eaten

Got just about everything we need, aside from whatever The People want for appetizers.

(I'm ignoring the snow news, too--lol. NOT looking forward to it getting here)

Wow, that is an excellent deal on turkey! JennieO turkeys are good, too. I think that was the kind I made for my very first Thanksgiving I cooked. I didn't see any of those here this year.

Today I interviewed the mayor, two council members, a biker reverend, the owner of an almost six decades old bar, and a Mormon stake president. Plus shopping and putting it all away, and ferrying kids from place to place. All in all, a productive day

Now I have 5 newspaper articles to write, but I think Ill give it a rest until tomorrow.

It sounds like you're hosting Thanksgiving! I've somehow managed to get to 46 without ever cooking a turkey or hosting Thanksgiving.
