I'm so sad. I've never seen them live, and I really wanted to. They don't come here anymore (a few years ago a fan got killed in GA crush at a concert, so they've never been asked back), and the concerts closest to us sold out in minutes. I was hoping they'd swing back around at the end of the tour and go to SF or something. I was expecting this to be their last tour, but not for it to end so soon :(

AC/DC always put on a great show. Seen them several times.

Brian's hearing issues are auto racing related. It's not due to performing. Needs rest but should be able to resume touring later this year.

I was thinking it might be the last because of their touring schedule: every 5 years. In 5 years, Brian will be 72--maybe not up to touring anymore? I read somewhere that Angus was saying they would tour as long as Brian was up for it, but they were done when he was done.

Yeah, they aren't getting any younger. I read an interview with Brian where he said that his ear drum ruptured while he as sitting in one of his race cars without hearing protection. Reved the motor and blammo! :(

Although, I'm sure the stage volume doesn't help. They are quite loud live. Not the loudest band I've seen though. Those honors go to The Toadies and Bad Brains! The Toadies are the reason I wear ear plugs to all live shows now. I was deaf for two days after seeing them for the first time \w/

My daughter was the same after seeing In This Moment last year--couldn't hear a damn thing for a couple of days. Now she understands why I've urged earplugs on her for years--lol.

HollyGolightly mentioned that she wanted to go but it was at the venue closest to her, not Bangor. I think we might have each had to bring bail money if we went together--but it would be worth it.
Oh would that I could go to see DMB with you in Bangor- what a party! Bail money, Jagermeister, we might do best with a limo. We'll just say we're with the band.

We could be the Bangor Sisters!

Loudest! Show! Ever! Motorhead, 1996. They played a bar setting with arena speakers. Don't know how they were allowed to do that, but that's rock & roll!!! Lemmy plugged into his stack and the hum alone vibrated the straw out of my drink. All I heard was WREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! in my ears for about seven days afterward.

This happened to me in Ottawa Ontario - we saw the Georgia Satellites - got to the club and saw most of the seats were gone. My husband (at that time) said "Oh look - here's two good seats right up front!" (right beside the friggin speakers). Wow - I think I may have lost a bit of my hearing for the higher frequencies that day!

You know the saying, "Charmed the pants off someone"? Well, Lemmy managed to shimmy my briefs all the way to my ankles while I still had my pants on. Now THAT is loud.
