niro - it has to do with Joe's description on Rush in his book
The Fireman, Joe Hill's fourth novel, is an apocalyptic tale in which a deadly .... he uses it like a superhero to keep those who would do them harm at bay. ... and Rush, whose music is described as “limp dick prog rock bullshit.

Thank you Spidey! I am sorry I did not know that probably won't read the book now. Joe got me in trouble big big.:aloof:

Should we delete my post with Joes pic? Tery

Oh please do read the book, it is a great story, fantastic characters. In the book, Joe was using poetic license , using those words to enhance part of the story. Do not let that usage stop you from reading the book. Even SK has made remarks about musical groups/products in his books. I am sure Tery understood the wording and am pretty sure she will or has read the book.

...nothing got you in trouble honey...nothing at all!....there was zero offense in what you or Spidey posted....and Tery might not agree with Joe's summation-but she will get a chuckle from it....

I joined this board back when I was 17. On a Friday the 13th in June of 2008. I was an incredibly shy person back then and still am today although I hope I am a bit better at that. Don't post as much as I should, but I try to make sure everyone knows what's going on. Whether it is my current wisdom tooth recovery struggles or my dreaded battles with chihuahuas past, I don't think there's much I haven't covered.

I know that certain members here are always looking out for me and I'll be a member here as long as everyone will have me. I just wish people I knew in real life were half as caring.

Hola!

This was a big one for me.

I was having tightness and chest pains (heavy duty). Off to the ER with my goofy azz. My son, John, posted on Spideyman God Bomb thread and we had a gazillion prayers, thoughts, well wishes, etc. through out the day, night and next day.

Spideyman , cat in a bag and bryras kept my son company for 48 hours. PM's and phone calls. (They reassured him and reminded him to eat and get some rest.)
(I beg pardon if I missed anyone else.)

THat was freaking awesome IMO. You know when someone is worried about you and that's so cool? They took care of my son when I couldn't.

Peace.

I soooo remember those chihuahuas! :) (If I remember correctly fljoe0 commiserated with you while I was being a jack-azz and giggling. Sorry 'bout that.)

(((( jacobtlong )))) Get some rest and get all better soon.

One more and then I'll shut up. =D

Awhile back, a member (no longer here-Banned) squared off on me in the Hot Topics section. He was not debating, it was a personal attack. DiO'Bolic championed me. And to me, it was a big deal. DiO and I have had some differences of opinion (we tend to bump heads when it comes to politics) but he wouldn't stand someone ragging me. That was uber cool :blues:.

Join date July 11, 2006. Sweet Jesus I'm coming up on my 10th year anniversary!!! Where to start? At first I just pretty much lurked in the background. Reading everyone's posts, wanting to reply but too afraid to do so. Didn't want to look like an idiot. (I failed!) I do believe that John D. was the first to say hi back then. Started posting. Made an *ss of myself a few times (probably way more than a few!). While I lurked and read posts, I realized that the SKMB was growing into a real family. One in which folks truly cared about one another. I wanted to be a part of that family. I've made friends on here and I've made enemies. This is a place where I can be myself and I hope that others feel the same way. We're all playing in Steve's 'backyard', so to speak and I try to remember that and be respectful while I'm playing here. I saw how devastated many people were when JD passed to the clearing and it really was scary how we all lost our footing there for a few months. Some of us really never recovered from that and have been mostly missing in action since. I don't think that's what JD would've wanted, but I understand it. Sometimes it just too painful to get back in the pool, ya know? I've seen other beloved members pass and it's been a sobering experience, too. As for me, these last 6-7 months have really tested me- I lost my Mom Nov. 1st of last year, had to put down one of my beloved fur babies 6 weeks after that and then April 21 of this year my most beloved musical genius Prince died. I can honestly with raw emotion say that I would not have been able to survive these setbacks without my SKMB family. There were days when I just couldn't come on here as it was way too much, I was drowning in pain, but when I got on here there were messages from my friends/family letting me know that they were thinking of me and were sending their love and green lights and prayers. Some sent cards that were received with joy and gratitude. I cannot ever repay you for this- you know who you are. Forever will you be in my heart of hearts. We are Ka-tet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, all you lurkers out there- what the h*ll are ya waiting for? Come jump in the pool, the water's FINE!!

Tery has a great sense of humor. No need to take it down.

Thankee, I just felt a bit embarrassed I guess. :a11:

I joined the board in April 2013 since nobody I knew back then was reading and enjoying SK's works.
The board since then made me smile and kept me company on a regular basis.
It's sometimes tough for me to follow the threads due to English as a second language. I have to look up a lot of words but it's worth it. I really enjoy the good manners and kindness of the members here as seen in this thread again. You learn a lot about different cultures if you stay. And it's a place were you can get the official news related to Mr Kings work.
