I have been thinking about this thread all weekend. :)

I am coming up on 6 years here, I joined during the Stephen's Empire contest. Submitted a picture and honestly thought that would be it for me, but I started to look around and read things and the camaraderie was so evident, it made me want to stay.

I was in a Mommy Coma too. (That is a great term, skimom2!) Have 4 kids, and at that time, they were 18, 8, 4 and 3. We had 1 vehicle and I just never got out of the house! It was also a very rough time for me in my marriage, my husband was extremely unhappy at work and he would come home just mad all the time. We were doing a lot of fighting. And I was doing a lot of crying. I needed this place more than any of you know.

Now, we have 2 vehicles, hubby's work is still stressful (for different reasons) but he is at a much better place and he has good working relationships there and is respected, which in turn made things turnaround at home. We have added 1 grandchild and 1 honorary grandchild to the family and I watch them both every day. So, I still hardly ever get out of the house! BUT...now I have friends to talk to, and what a difference that makes!

You were there for me when I had my gall bladder surgery that turned into a huge freaking nightmare. You prayed for my recovery. You have been with me through the passing of our first grandbaby Ahmira. The passing of my grandparents. Through the worry of the pregnancy with RJ, and being so scared that the thing that took Ahmira from us would happen again...and the joy and relief when RJ arrived, hearty and healthy. You put up with my picture posting, my Mom and Grandma bragging. :) And some of you have offered such valuable advice behind the scenes, too. About some drama we have going with extended family, about job worries and stress, or just to lend an ear and allow me to get it all out, before it gets toxic. And the teasing and ribbing and sullying of threads...it is all such a blessing.

I am so grateful and happy that I took a chance and submitted my picture for that contest and took a bigger chance by staying and becoming part of the Ka-Tet. You keep me sane, you make me laugh and comfort, prayers and good vibes are always just a request away, if I need. And I try to do the same for anyone and everyone here who has a need. Because it has helped me, countless times, to know you all have my back.

And then there are the books! And the book talks! Living vicariously, like these past few weeks with all the members who got to attend one of the tour stops, or during the Kons, or any special thing any of us do!

I joined for one Empire, and found another. It is a truly special and unique thing we have here. I love you all. :love_heart: :love_heart:

One more and then I'll shut up. =D

Awhile back, a member (no longer here-Banned) squared off on me in the Hot Topics section. He was not debating, it was a personal attack. DiO'Bolic championed me. And to me, it was a big deal. DiO and I have had some differences of opinion (we tend to bump heads when it comes to politics) but he wouldn't stand someone ragging me. That was uber cool :blues:.

(((DiO'Bolic )))
Who was banned? I can't remember this one.

I think I've been on the SKMB for around five years. I, unfortunately, didn't get to know Mr. Dalgish very well. I more remember GNT taking the lead and making himself available to answer any questions I had. I like a more one on one approach when I'm new somewhere so I thought then and still do so that the gesture was very kind and considerate of Scott . Later, I realized he was of the same family of Weisenheimers that I myself descend from and if I ever have the honor of meeting him I plan on buying him a beer and saying thank-ya properly:) Lots of members have endured countless boring stories and posts from me about a wide range of topics. I'm not sure if I'm part of the SKMB or just tolerated, but I respect everyone here a great deal for the common bond we have of enjoying all things Stephen King. It's a good place to come to and there's always something interesting to read about here on the SKMB. It reminds me a lot of a large extended family. Arguments, debates, laughs, cries, condolences, congratulations, the best of community seems to be represented here 24-7 to a large extent. A couple of members have reached out to me via PM a few times to just discuss various topics or just to ask "How ya' doin?" and that's cool, I very much appreciate it. I've never made friends fast or easily and the departure from LE still makes me very appreciative of all the relationships I formed there and here. This place reminds me of a bunch of friends sitting around a campfire just discussing whatever comes to mind. I appreciate that fact and always will. Stay safe everyone. Ghost.

Be assured that you are absolutely part of the SKMB family. Always enjoy your posts and input on topics. We are one, made up of many and you are part of that many. Proud to call you Tet-Mate and friend.
