The drama of a 16 year old girl and the homecoming dance this weekend. Dress, shoes, makeup, gossip, oh my. And she’s taking a girlfriend of hers whose parents split up earlier this year and she had to move an hour away about a month ago and is now being home-schooled. My daughter’s boyfriend is not too happy about not getting to go with her. Is it too much to hope the hurricane gets here before Saturday night? :)
Good luck. Although, you'll make it through just fine. I know, I have two teenage girls 14 and 16! Homecoming is this weekend here too.

My mom grew up in tornado alley. She always told us that when a storm was coming, her dad would grab all the family and head them down into the cellar and he would grab the ax last thing. In case he had to hack them out

I remember fierce storms in Ga. when I was little. My Mom would grab us kids and hide in a closet, petrified until it was over. Living with frequent tornadoes would be horrific and scary. My heart goes out to all of those enduring Matthew.

Heard from my wife’s cousin last night. She’s a lieutenant and dentist in the Navy and stationed at a naval base on the east coast of Florida. She put her car in storage, has off until Tuesday, and picked up a couple bottles of wine to sit back and enjoy the ‘fireworks.’ Sailors seem to be a touch crazy. :)

:D

You well enough inland, Sunny, to avoid a lot (the worst) of the storm?
Sunny has her own ways of warding off the storm.

That's good thinking. A lot of the old storm cellars we used to take shelter in had very thick wooden doors. A tree falls in front of one of them and you're going to need something to hack your way out for sure.

Wow - I have been watching too many horror movies for sure! (I misread that last sentence --- hack them up (out)
