Just a thought ma'am that might expedite getting this matter cleared up. When you do talk to the officer that issued the ticket, ask him for his email address. If possible, email him a scanned copy of the actual ticket. Officers write so many, it's hard to keep any single one in your head. Actually looking at the ticket will jog his/her memory and he can also take that emailed copy and forward it to the records division with a note to void the ticket along with the reason. The records division should, in turn, forward the void to the court where the ticket should die as far as you having anything further to do with it. It's one of those cases where making it a bit easier on the officer will most likely make the issue go away quicker and you won't have to waste any more time dealing with it. Anyway, like I said, just a thought ma'am. Good luck.
And a good one :) I did get hold of the officer, and he did remember me--he still had pictures of the accident I was involved in on his phone. Apparently the screw up occurred somewhere in the filing system. He got it all cleared up for me. They had to dismiss the ticket--the driver at fault got a gift. Officer Thompson is a great guy, known for doing some kind and wonderful things in our community. He also moonlights as security at the upscale dept store where my daughter works and she's told me many times what a good guy he is (though I didn't mention that to him, of course--it would have felt like trying to curry favor, and I don't do that).

Got my copy of The Lost Novels of Bram Stoker in the mail the other day. Been wanting to read these books (The Jewel of the Seven Stars, The Lady of the Shroud, and The Lair of the White Worm) for some time now--mainly that White Worm deal, as I've been told it's one weird, surreal tale. But, after a glance at the table of contents, I see that what I have is the furshlugginer edited edition of Lair of the White Worm, cut by about 100 pages--from 40 chapters down to 28.

Words cannot express the rage I feel. Well, okay, it ain't that big a deal...but, dang it, I don't do abridged editions of anything. The only reason I bought the damn book was because the reviews on Amazon led me to believe it contained the full text of Lair. All the other editions were either cut (like mine, grrr) or edited to conform to our modern PC mentality (another blasphemy in my book).

Anybody know where I can find an uncut, unabridged, bloody unexpurgated copy of The Lair of the White Worm by Stoker?
I know you want to own a physical copy but if you just want to read the unabridged version it's free online at gutenbergproject.com.
Many other Stoker books and stories are available in e-book format at this site.

Cool. Glad you got it taken care of. Have a good week ma'am.

This is an Awsome thread, like a soap opera. What happend to the lady who where's bare feet at the hair salon?

I am sad I have no cake to eat, and I am almost finished with the dead Zone and I can not find the movie yet :(

If you go to YouTube I am pretty sure it is available there in segments - I remember watching it that way - there are some annoying commercial breaks but you could use that time to stretch your legs (or dream of more cake!)

Something you may try ma'am, shut down your system in this order: Shut down the computer first, then unplug the router if you're using a router, then unplug the modem, lastly disconnect the coax cable that brings the signal to the modem itself. Wait about 2 or 3 minutes, then reconnect in this order: Connect coax to back of modem, the power the modem back up. Wait about 2 or 3 minutes before firing up the router again. Give the router about another 2-3 minutes to let it start processing the signal then fire your computer back up. This clears the cache from the router and the modem and will sometimes give you an increase in speed. Just something to try. Have a good evening.

I am angry because they are trying to de-humanise even going shopping. There are huge supermarkets/shopping centres where everyone walks around like demented zombies with plastic cards in their wallets but everybody looks at each other with cold anger. Have you noticed they are trying to get rid of the check-out people replacing them with terminals where you just swipe your card. Here, there is an American conglomeration opening where there are no service staff in the shop, just security guards and maybe two helpers. They want to get rid of cash, and they don't like people owning their own home, their ambition is to have a total cashless society where everyone is renters, if you cant' pay for the rent of the home your out and the car won't start if you can 't pay. Like, I want to buy a brand new( not off the internet) copy of Night Shift. Up to about 10 years ago I could walk up to Hunter Street mall and had a choice of Angus and Robertson or Dymocks' bookstores. There would be on the shelf most of writers' like King's stuff right on hand. There is only one of those stores at Charlestown now. I don't and never will download a book and read it on electronic crap.

It's going to happen with actors, you don't need John Wayne or Robert Mitchum in real life because they are going to replicate them. Same with authors. In the new future, you don't need authors, but databases, saying, "I want a novel like Stephen King". The human thing is going to die out. Maybe I'm pessimistic. I been reading John D MacDonald book, his best Science Fiction stories, I been acting like Billy all day, "How will our enemies attack us," says Folmer, and Biily gets cranky because he's got powers beyond belief. I haven't worked out the secret of life yet, I asked someone here if they knew they were good. I worked out half.

So I went last week to see my eye doctor because I need new glasses and it's better to get testet by a doctor.
He told me it's really hard to tell which prescription I need. Plus I constantly use one eye and my brain blocks the other. I am fine don't have any trouble. Okay last he said is "You should go and see some other specialist. Let's see if we should try to cure it or not." I called there and they have appointments in August.

I am really angry new glasses in August plus I maybe have to move into another city job related who knows if I stay here in my area. :facepalm_smiley:

I allready called an other place and they give you as well appointments in August...

This seems to work temporarily but I am weighing having to do this every other day vs. investing in the next highest package. Looks as if I will have to call the provider and ask the details.
