No, sir. HBO Now. I got the 30 day free trial and it's pretty good. I don't think I'll keep it, but we'll see.

I have seen Children of a Lesser God and I liked it. Have you seen Agnes of God? Jane Fonda, Anne Bancroft and Meg Tilly were stupendous. Truly marvelous performances.
Ok, thanks. Yeah, I saw Agnes of God and enjoyed it. Great cast. I saw some older flicks on cable around the same time as that one. Nuts with Streisand and Chariots of Fire.

Finished reading I Am Legend, so watched the movie. Totally different, as most of you probably know, but I really liked it. Not as much as the book, but I expected that. I usually love Will Smith in everything, and thought he did a great job in this.

Have you seen The Omega Man with Charlton Heston? It's another version only older. Scared the h*ll out of me when I was a kid!

The closest filmed version is Vincent Price in The Last Man on Earth. Still has a different ending, but I think it keeps the feel of the written story best.

The Dark Tower! All I'm going to say is that I think they did it justice in this incarnation. I was able to transport myself out of this world and into the world of the Gunslinger and Jake. It succeeded in making me forget my troubles (and I've got some whoppers right now!) and go along for the ride. Idris did a good job in his portrayal of Roland (I wouldn't want to mess with him!) and Tom Taylor is great as Jake. Things are mighty compressed in this version and there's not a lot of explanations going on as to what is happening or why but it just keeps pulling you along. I think someone who has never read a DT book will 'get it'. There's lots of little Easter eggs throughout the entire movie and I like how they kept the 'siguls' in there. Is it as rich as The Lord Of The Rings movies? No, but it's close. Go see it!

I just read a scathing review online. :( I watched the trailer again and spotted a snippet of something that I don't remember seeing in the movie (it was a shot of the Tower in daylight with all of the beams in white emanating from it) so maybe there will be a director's cut when it's released on BD/dvd. Lastly- there's nothing like the feeling of awe when a theater screen goes black and a character in the movie says those infamous words: 'The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed....'!!!!!
