You youngster! So your version of the 80s was Teddy Rukspin and Alf and ET - you missed all the good parts! You were a cute little fellow!
I can't remember teddy rukspin, I can vaguely remember watching Alf, and yeah, everyone remembers ET. And yeah, I did miss all the good parts, I didn't even like the music then (what a tosser I was), now some of my favourite music, tv shows, films etc are from the 80s, I was born 10 years late.

Me in Ottawa in 1989 with one of our cockatiels named Max :smile-new:
(Sorry - no big hair, though - maybe I can find one if I look...)
We had one of those once, it was an awful vile thing. If we tried that our arms would be cut to ribbons. It would only let my Mum reach in its cage to change its water or food - me or my Brothers would even try it, and when my Dad did all you could hear was "ow, you horrible yellow b*st*rd".

That would be nice, Appetite for Destruction, one of the best albums ever. Can still remember exactly where I was first time I heard Welcome to the Jungle, just an awesome album. Kind of turned rock on its head at that moment in time, 1987 wasn't it?

I saw every single one of these! I'm lucky if I see 2 movies a year in a theater these days.

Ok, back to the music/film of that fine decade, can't get much more 80s than this.
I saw The Breakfast Club in the theater about 5 times when it first came out. Although I had been out of high school for 5 years the movie really resonated with me. I always felt a special closeness to Ally Sheedy's character Allison.

no big hair ... but big 80's sunglasses !!!
What's with me and birds? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them - that's all! (Yeah, I know, some people find them scary) - shoulda been an ornithologist I guess!

This is my son Josh with our two birds - Coco and Buddy - from these came our hand raised cockatiel Max.
