...I thank you one and all...I am as always-humbled by your kindness...this yearly effort is the only writing I do, and I was intimidated to be the one leading it off-but I'm glad that somehow I managed...much encouragement behind the scenes helped as well....this was a great bunch this year and what a hell of a ride you all have awaiting you!.....

Howdy GNTLGNT, I thoroughly enjoyed the opening. It hooked me in and set the stage for whatever else is coming down the pipe. I like how you called the camera wielding vacationers 'Griswolds'...nice touch. I'm certainly no literary critic but I know what I like and I liked it! I cannot wait for the next segment. All the best, mal.

Wow, last gunslinger! Really creepy addition.

I really loved this....I see the silhouette of the church’s rotted steeple, its rusted bell silent now, beckoning only the dead and the damned.

Whoo-hoo! I think we are in for one doozy of a Halloween tale!

Hey, Scott - great intro! Well done, you!

And to think Scott was a big ole fraidy cat about his writing the first year he participated in the Halloween story. :):ghost:
I'm on record saying this, but I'll say it again: Scott has a GREAT writer 'voice'. The ability to TELL a story--to leave the impression reader with the impression that he/she is HEARING a story, rather than reading it--is a gift. There are published, well-known (and paid) writers who can't do this. Technical perfection is important, but that can be learned. 'Voice' can't (imho).
