Probably more sci fi than horror, but I remember seeing it around age 13 or so and it freaked me out then, so I'm counting it. Not so freaky scary this time around, but the kids all watched with me and they enjoyed it.
I really like this movie. I watched it the other day along with Soylent Green. I saw both of these in the theater as an impressionable young boy when they first came out and was taken by both. I still am.

I recorded Soylent Green, too. Have never seen it, so even if I don't get it in for the marathon, I will still watch it soon.

Happy Halloween, everybody! It's been a great month! I watched two movies last night, one with my daughter and one later by myself. Here's the first review:

31. Something Wicked This Way Comes
When Mr. Dark's Carnival descends on a small town in late October, patrons are given their deepest desires--at a cost. Based on the Ray Bradbury novel (which gets its title from MacBeth), this movie was considered a bit of a flop at the time, given the production budget issues, the lack of an audience, and the fact that Ray Bradbury himself reportedly wasn't happy with it. However, there's plenty of magic in SWTWC, some coming from a sense of nostalgia, and the troubled relationship between a boy and his elderly father. Best of all is Mr. Dark himself, brilliantly played by Jonathan Pryce, whose performance alone is worth the price of admission. A highlight is the scene where he tears pages out of a book one by one, representing the lost years of life that he has the power to give back to the elderly father, each year's opportunity gone forever as they are torn out and cast aside. My daughter loved the movie, although she pointed out that some of the special effects are a bit dated by today's standards.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

32. Trouble Every Day (FTV)
American man in Paris struggles with a mental condition that causes him to literally devour his sexual partners, as a woman across town shares the same condition. Are the two on a collision course? Can a cure be found? How long can the man avoid devouring his new bride? Mostly, the answer the answer to these questions is "Huh?" This is not really a horror film, it's more of an art-house film with horrific elements. The pacing and narrative structure are unconventional, with little dialogue and even less story. Most of the time you're not sure what's going on, but by the end things sort of click into place. Despite its flaws, I didn't really hate this movie, they are clearly trying something different and artistic and in that respect they've succeeded. But don't go into this one expecting a straightforward horror movie, or an erotic thriller. Difficult, but not a complete failure.

Brilliant movie and story. IMO, Sai King owes a great debt to Ray Bradbury, culling several of Ray's own mid-America youth experiences into his own writing. And we're all the richer for both of these outstanding authors and storytellers.

#34. The Legend Of Hell House (1973) England Not as good as The Haunting (based on Jacksons Haunting of Hill House) but a solid Haunted House movie. Never liked that doctor. Why did he have to be so unfriendly towards everyone? Built on Mathesons book. Pamela Franklin good as the medium. 3,5/5

32. The Haunted Palace (1963) Vincent Price

This is a Roger Corman/Vincent Price movie that I had never seen before. Corman does an HP Lovecraft story and it’s very good. A warlock is burned to death by villagers and vows to return from the dead to take revenge on the town and he keeps his promise. This has the look and feel of the Poe flicks but it's pretty dark with no humor like the Corman/Poe flicks. Poe is credited along with Lovecraft (and the title is from a Poe poem) but it' a Lovecraft story. 9/10

33. Zombieland (2009)

Classic of the horror/comedy genre. 9/10

and that's all folks. I had a great time again this year and enjoyed my Hammer heavy month.

22) The Forest (2016) – FTV – Thanks to the folks who recommended this one. I had avoided it because the premise sounded too much like my # 5 movie which was bad. This was so much better plus had Natalie Dormer from GoT! I enjoyed it. 3 of 5 stars.
23) Carnival of Souls (1962) – FTV – This was a creepy little number. Mary is the sole-survivor of a drag race crash into a lake. Moving on, she is haunted by a strange, abandoned carnival and a mysterious phantom man. The acting was mostly overdone in this one but for the time, it had some ground breaking twists. 2 of 5 stars
24) Joshua (2007) – FTV – When his newborn sister arrives home, 9-year-old Joshua is less than excited. Conflicted about this one. 2.5 of 5 stars but it may deserve more.

I think I watched a few less than last year, but managed to get a lot more first time viewings in. Thanks to all for the suggestions, reviews and fun! Thanks to our own fushingfeef for being a wonderful host!

What better way to end the marathon? And I watched it by myself! ;-D Not in the dark, though. ;)

I started H20, but was just too tired to get through more than the first 20 minutes. Wouldn't have been able to count it, anyway, it would have been past midnight when it got over.

My final list...
