Um, I don't get it....

There was a story this week where George HW Bush was accused of groping women from his wheelchair during photo ops. Before he touched them, he would ask, Do you know who my favorite magician is? David Cop-A-Feel.

Bush apologized and said he was just making a joke because of where his hands needed to be because he was sitting. (If you've had 90+ year old relatives in your family, you know they can be very inappropriate at times. ;-D)

:lol::rofl:

I guess if you've lived to be 90+ sometimes it would be hard to be appropriate

And just a general reminder -- this isn't Hot Topics, so fljoe's explanation is good enough. No debates or discussions about the topic or all this disappears, faster than David Cop-A-Feel can cop a feel.

Oh, I get it now. I didn't read the story about Bush just saw the head line and shook my head.

My attitude is more "meh." I expect people will act like themselves. If they nudge or cross a line, I expect them to get called out on it, and if they do, I expect them to step back and respect the line. If they don't, I have an insight to their character, and it's not pretty.

In my case, as if it matters (it doesn't), I'd probably be oblivious to such a thing. Not because I don't get flirting. I'm just oblivious in general. I'm a pathological literalist, and nuances of human social behavior often escape me.

...but you did manage to wipe the spittle off your chin before we shook hands....
