This isn't about Windows 10, but figured you technological people might be able to help me:
Moved to a new house, ya know. Internet installed yesterday with wireless too. Now, YouTube won't work on my Kindle.
I can go to the site and click on a video, but the video remains black and I can't play it?????
What to do?

Thanks, that gives me plenty of time. Can it only be updated from Windows 8, or can you update it from Windows 7? (I also have PC's with XP, ME, 98, 95, and DOS 6.0 still on them. I doubt I can upgrade those. Just can't seem to find it within myself to throw any of them out).
I'm going straight from Windows 7.
Me too. Skipped 8.

Not got it. Probably won't. But if you do, fer Gawd's sake look at all the permissions and other sign-aways MS are seeking by default - and next time you boot up, check the options again before you close down. A few people have mentioned to me that their opt-out/privacy settings were mysteriously reset to the default opt-in settings, and one mate found out that it's one way: once you've opted in, you're done. Changing it back only causes it to reset on closedown.
(Though, since the pre-Win10 launch update-that-seemed-to-do-nothing, I've been having some highly entertaining times with Win7, especially when it comes to resource management. Full AV scan reveals nothing amiss, no malware or spyware...Hmm...)

If I was on Windows 8 I would probably switch in a heartbeat, but I'm on Windows 7 which isn't crap so I'm going to hang back for now. Not a big fan of the home version not letting you control updates - if they release an update which stops something working, it automatically downloads it and you're stuck with it until they release another update to fix it.

I had 8.1. It was ok, but I really like 10. I had it set up to get updates automatically, so that part doesn't worry me. All my stuff was still there when I upgraded. I thought I'd have to redo everything. The only thing I'm not fond of is, I can't get all my things in the tabs at the same time. I have a folder of all news, and I have to go one at a time. I used to put them all up at once. Maybe I haven't figured that part out yet.
