We have our routine.

When Grandma has her 6:00 am shift, we set both our phones for 5:00 or so. Hers goes off, and she tries to ignore it. Mine goes off, and I keep reminding her that she needs to get up. She finally does so, tells me she wants me to rest, and sometimes I go back to sleep and sometimes not, and it's weird, but before she leaves, she has to give me a goodbye kiss, and if I'm asleep, then she wakes me up anyway, but usually it's okay, because I'm faking it. Then she leaves, and I get up and get some work done.

On weekends, I get up and get work done, or cruise SKMB, or maybe work out (as if), or whatever. She'll get up anywhere from 9:00 to 10:30, and I'll fix her breakfast. Usually an egg scrambler with sauteed mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, spinach, various spices, and two to four different kinds of cheese. We grind our own coffee, so that's made too. She tells me the eggs are delicious, and we eat while we read the morning paper.

Man, we are old and boring.
Sounds lovely to me.

I'm a morning person. When I wake up depends, on part, on when I went to bed the night before, as I do like my sleep. I usually wake up before seven on weekends, and earlier on weekdays, and when I wake up, I'm awake. On the flip side, my brain shuts down at night unless I'm doing something really engaging.

I don't think I've ever slept past 10 in my life, and the times that I've slept past nine could likely be counted on one hand.

Speaking of treadmills, I want to buy one. During these winter months, the weather affects my running times, and I'd like to be able to use a treadmill if I can't run outside.
Does anyone have any tips for buying a treadmill?
What features do I definitely want?
I can probably spend between only $300-500, so I know that limits me. I won't be walking on it; only running. I found several on Amazon, but it's hard to tell what's best.
...here ya go honey...and a number well within your budget range...

I am absolutley a morning person and I love it. I'm out of bed by 6am most every day, even weekends when not working. During the week I love the time it gives me to get ready for work, which starts at 8:30 am, without rushing around. I can make our lunches, sit and have coffee and watch a bit of the news. On the weekend, I can get the laundry done (shared washer and dryer down the hall; we live in a 15-story condo) and other household chores, go to the gym, food shopping and it's all done by noon.
Sounds scary.....

I guess it wasn't because it was too early for you? - I used to be just like you - did my best work in the morning - full of energy, perky, disgustingly cheerful  - it drove my husband crazy! (I miss those days - now I need lots of caffeine to get going )

I posted a video of a song called Freak Like Me by Santigold in response to Blunthead's "freak" comment and then quickly realized the video was not appropriate for this site. That's why I deleted it.

Absolutely love, love, LOVE mornings. Up at 5:40am daily, even on weekends. Treadmill for half an hour, shower, coffee... all by 7:00am. Would rather sleep in, but that time before everyone else gets up is golden to me... and you gotta pay the price to get it.

Many moons ago, hubby and I became morning persons in order to get a couple hours of free time from the kids. :smile2: Once we discovered how peaceful it is at that time of day, we were hooked. It's also great to grocery shop early in the morning-- you practically have the store to yourself and things aren't picked over. After all...

I salute this non-freakish post.
