What do you use? Currently I am using the cash register receipt.

I want to make a bookmark as a thank you for a guy who is sending me some books. I can design myself, but I'm trying to find an appropriate and shirt saying. I have previously designed two based on Dark Tower, but I don't think he's read it.

When I was a kid I always bought a new bookmark when I bought a new book. Now I do the strangest thing - I try to remember the page number and I don't use a bookmark at all. This is tricky because I am usually working 2 or 3 books at once. There's the upstairs/bedtime book, the downstairs/eating book, and the book I keep in the car for waiting at the dr office or football practice or whenever else I find myself waiting. It's weird, huh? And sometimes doesn't work.

We have a folder full of bookmarks in the 'library tote' on top of the homework caddy. I have three books going right now and one is marked with a fortune cookie fortune, one with a playing card, and one with a Skylanders trading card. I'm not quite hopeless--I did finally break myself of dog-earing (except in emergencies-lol)

I started collected things to use as bookmarks a long time ago after getting tired of never finding anything; kinda like why I started collecting those electrical cord adapters which convert three-prong to two. Currently, I'm using a cardboard thing that came with a bird-feeder hanger.

I'm using a folded in half yellow post-it note in my current book. The paper's old and worn thin because I just transfer it from book to book. I've seen some lovely bookmarks with beautiful art on them and/or inspirational quotes. It's a thoughtful gift for someone who likes to read. A homemade bookmark would be even more special.

My bookmarks are currently

A business card from the haircut place

The instruction booklet from my iPod nano

A dum dum wrapper (I take the free dum dums from the counter at the bank)

Folded in half notebook paper covered with scribbled phrases, words, and page numbers from Mr. Mercedes (that I think might somehow be helpful to me in obtaining all the achievements from the basement)

Are you wanting Stephen king inspired bookmark ideas; how about “this inhuman place makes human monsters”-the shinning or "constant readers, dream but do not sleep"

How about Jefferson's quote? "I cannot live without books." (If it doesn't have to be SK related, that is.)

Definitely does not need to be SK related. I'm not positive he reads King.

I have used the post-it note.

What I used to use was the paper that was around Dentyne gum back before it came in the bubble package. That's what my mom used most often, and I inherited the habit. The smell of Dentyne always makes me think of reading.

After multiple searches, I think I'm going with Jake's quote. "go then, there are other worlds than these"

An avid reader, even if not a King fan and even if he's never read Gunslinger should still appreciate that quote. But, I guess I mark it as an SK quote, not a JC quote? I find that difficult...since Jake IS real!

Now, to chart either a rose or a gun.
