I will not be making any more stockings. Only exception will be if any of my kids have kids, or if my youngest gets married and his partner wants one.

That last one I made....the grandmother requested it. The parents knew I was working on in time for Christmas. They knew it was a lot of time, even if they didn't actually know it was over 100 hours. Christmas morning the grandma posted some pictures. One was the parents and baby and a stocking on the sofa beside them. Someone commented that they LOVED the fox stocking...she had the same ones for her kids. Yup...that's right. They went out a bought a stocking. If everything given to this child has to have a fox, they should have told me before I wasted all that time.

(The picture was either deleted or blocked from my view. Obviously she didn't realize the stocking was in the picture when she posted it. And if the fox stocking was someone else's, or he used two, she would have replied rather than deleting.)

Never again.

I was also working on some baby toys. I had planned to give one to the baby and one to the grandmother for her daycare. Not now. I'm done!
Don't let that steal your joy! I've seen your stockings - they are amazing!

What a sweet idea! I made her a fidget quilt for xmas. I whipped that thing together in one day, which was easy because I had a off white baby blanket I had bought years ago for another project and stashed away. So, I just went through all my stuff and started sewing on ribbons and baubles.

We laid it on the couch next to her and while we were talking, I would catch her cautiously touching items on it. I hope it helps her. And she knew who I was! But not my family, my husband being her blood relative. She kept asking who he was, who was this man in her house? It breaks my heart because I can see her confusion and fear.
:swoon: remember -I asked you to be my sister wife for your skills! Your beauty is lagniappe.
Seriously - that's a awesome idea and I totally think it will help. I've seen someone with dementia pick at things - her clothes, eyelashes, cuticles. A fidget quilt is a great idea!

These are so cute!

Here is my tree once they are on it. Don't mind my missy garage as we are doing Christmas gifts in there for space purposes.

About two weeks before Christmas I saw a REALLY cute ornament idea on Pinterest.I think they were cornstarch and baking soda and some were stamped on.BUT I thought it would be rather hateful to introduce a new craft that close to Christmas:devil:.I didnt get around to trying them myself.
Which leads me to this question......do you have a crafting objective for the year? It is so easy to get sidetracked with new ideas. I am deteremined to finish the miniature beach house I started almost two years ago!(I feel like I made this same resolution last year). I feel so guilty everytime I see it sitting haphazardly on a lazy susan in the basement.I have two other unfinished mini projects kickin around down there too(mini housewarming present-still on my list but I have been such a slacker!) I really need to get on a "mini" kick and finish some of this stuff!

Preaching to the choir! My goal at the moment is finishing several of my UFOs including quilting a king-size quilt I've been working on off/on for at least 2, maybe 3 years now. I'd like to get it done by the time I go to AZ at the beginning of May as it's for my house there. That may be an ambitious goal as it's heavily quilted and I'm doing it on a domestic sewing machine, not a long-arm quilter. Plus I only do that sort of thing on weekends as I don't have the energy most weekdays to add sewing to all the rest I do. Have been itching to get back to weaving again but so far have been able to resist starting a new project. We'll see how long that lasts.

I have so many unfinished projects, it would shock you. And every time I finally finish one up, I add more to the pile to finish up. The squirrel loves those dangly new projects just....over.....there....GO!!!!

My goal is always to finish my 2017 Christmas crafts by June. However, I see a new crafting idea and get sidetracked. There is a ripple afghan started 4 years ago that sits unfinished. Maybe, this year? There just isn't enough hours in the day. I tend to make Tote Kit Projects (placing all necessary supplies for a project in a tote bag). As fingers allow, I will switch from needlepoint/ plastic canvas to crocheting. Presently working on another paper-folding craft.

I have two paper piecing quilts I do this with.

A clamshell and hexagon quilt. I take my little kit with me and work on them as I have time. (But even then, I have to go in streaks on them.)
