...I shared the last diorama I built, and you were wonderfully kind with your comments...this one I built just for me.....and the first tank model, I assembled, customized and painted myself over 40 years ago....

While trying to find the definition of the word "lagniappe" (thanks HollyGolightly ) I ran across this photo

These look like homemade bath bombs

I still have all the ingredients in two boxes but have not made any lately

- now I am trying to tidy the house and get rid of cluttery things, so not sure if I will be able to do them in the near future - hoping that I will be able to pick it up again once I am semi-retired

(for now they will have to go in the basement for safekeeping)

Really nice job, Scott! Is this something you've recently started doing again or has it been on-going since you did that first one 40 years ago?

....Thanks Marsha!...the original Monogram model kit of the tank I built when I was in my early to mid-teens.....I was quite proud of my effort-so I was very careful with it-and I don't want to sound prideful, but it was the culmination of weeks worth of work and experimentation....as I got older, I socked it away, in of all places-the bottom of my gun cabinet-and there it sat, until I built this last diorama-and to your question, yes-I did work on them years ago, and picked up doing them again a couple of years ago-when the urge hits....oddly, the price of pieces and parts is much more than it was when I was but a young GNT:D....

They are awesome. Is it a part of a large diorama?

It reminds me of stuff my brother used to do. He loved working on model kits, and he would often take over our ping pong table to make a giant diorama. One time it was an army scene.

I have made quilts, but I have never done quilting. For Christmas I got a small pattern and the material to make a quilted picture frame. This week, I finally got around to trying it.

For those who understand.....it is made with a jellyroll. I'm not particularly pleased with the colours....and this is a really poor quality picture.

This is just the front. I still need to sandwich it (front, batting, backing) and do the actual quilting. I'm hoping to get to it this week.

I've been working on this quilt off/on for 3(?) years now but decided this would be the year I'll finish it as it's for my AZ house and I want to have it when I go there in May. These pictures were taken before I did the binding but I finished that yesterday. This is a king size quilt that I did with free--motion quilting on my regular sewing machine, not a long-arm quilter so lines are not perfectly straight or evenly spaced. The excuse for that I hear most often is that it isn't a mistake, it's done "organically" as a design choice. I didn't realize that when I'd started the quilting a couple years ago I had added an extra line on each of the dresden blades in a couple of the blocks. I'm debating whether I'll go back and add them in to all the rest or just remove the stitching on those I'd done. I'm leaning toward the latter at this point as I've spent the last three weekends on this and am over it. The colors and style aren't anything I would have usually done but thought they would fit in with a Southwestern style of decorating.
