Here are some ink dye tiles I did. I was going to do the kitchen backsplash with them, but chickened out.

I LOVE those tiles! There are so many neat things you can do with them! I am dying to see your house with all your cafty decor :)

The tiles kinda remind me of suminagashi (Japanese marbling). Have you tried it? The technique seems to be similar. An example follows.

One time at the state fair, someone demonstrated the suminagashi method by dying t-shirts. They were soooooo cool looking. You need a pretty big tub to submerge the t-shirt into though and you have to be very careful when you bring the t-shirt up through the swirled dyes on the surface of the water.

...folks, other than goofing around in it...I never thought I would have anything worthwhile to post in a craft thread...I am not artistic by any stretch of the imagination, but I guess it just took a little inspiration on my part to get me started....so, for better or worse-here is my attempt at something "crafty"...as most of you know, my son Seth is an Army MP, and one of his gigs is as a .50 cal gunner in the turret of a Humvee...honoring his service is what got me to construct this diorama...

Very cool! I like it a lot. You can see the love you put into making that.
