Well, the biopsy BH had done showed nothing; next he will have to endure a Pill Cam. He took a very bad fall after feeling a loss of strength and bruised his ribs on Friday a few hours before the doctor appointment which made the verdict of no results most distressing. If you think about it maybe another prayer or two? Thank you.

How frightening! Keeping you and your BH in my prayers!

The woods are lovely dark and deep
From what I can recall (since it was around 3 years ago) I swallowed this capsule (which was not hard actually - it is not THAT big).

I had to fast first and I think maybe I did that thing with the Pico-Salex where you take it in liquid (it's a powder) then drink lots and lots of clear fluids. That is the hardest part, as you will need to stay close to a bathroom. I recall taking a day off work for this. You do the bowel prep the night before.

I went to the Health Sciences Centre and after swallowing the capsule they strap this thing on you (sort of like a sideways backpack). Somehow or other it goes together with the little capsule camera. Eventually the capsule will just find its way out of your body (through your digestive system). You wear this device for at least eight hours.

They said I could do it at work but I did not want to, so I stayed home and just took a sick day. I thought it might interfere with my ability to type as a medical transcriptionist, as it was a bit bulky.

And - that 's that! They should give you instructions in advance. The bowel prep may not be necessary - perhaps I am mixing this up with a gastroscopy and colonoscopy I had right around that time as well. We never did find out what was causing the pains in my lower abdomen. Their best guess is that I was still ovulating (even after age 50!) and that when an egg was released it was causing the pain.

Good luck - I hope what I wrote up above helps your hubby. :encouragement::love_heart::cheerful::peach:
THANK YOU, dear Neesy. Ovulation can cause some sharp pains.

A very sweet, kind and long time member received some bad news this afternoon. The next few weeks and months will be difficult. If you would be so kind, prayers, thoughts, vibes, well wishes...for our friend.
