My father was taken to the hospital for a kidney problem (he's 93) leaving my Mother without his care for her (she's 90 and physically unwell) and now both are........well, I'm not quite sure to be honest. My sister called and said I needed to come. Be prepared she said. My Father apparently has lost his grip on reality. Mom cannot be on her own. They are in a retirement community that does over assisted living arrangements so that is what my Sister, my Brother and I will be looking into. My parents have been inseparable. My Mother is already saying she will not go, will not leave her apartment to go to that "other wing", she's having difficulty focusing too according to my Sister.

I'll be driving the eight to nine hour drive (with no traffic) starting either this afternoon or very early in the AM. I'll check in if I'm able. Funny..you think you are prepared for this happening...you've told yourself it's coming.......Mom and Dad are OLD, but I'm still scared to death.......

Oh dear, please be careful on your long drive. I will pray that you and your brother and sister will seek all the help that you need, medical and social. To have both parents in distress is a heavy load. Many, many prayers. Please keep us up to date if you can.

OoO- one is never prepared for parents getting older- we see it with our eyes, but never with our heart. Drive safe, be watchful of weather headed your way. Please promise to take some time for you.
