Safety shield and fun times for all.My daughter is going on a 3 day, 2 night camp trip with her 5th grade class today. It is something the district does every year, with 5th graders. They spend their time doing all kinds of hands on science stuff.
She is mighty excited and I am mighty nervous, even though this is a long-standing school tradition and the fact I have had one kid go and come back safely when he was in 5th grade. I ask for prayers, please, for the safety of all and patience for the principal and teachers while they are on their adventure? Thank you!
(((Flake))) You have been a caring and devoted granddaughter and I have no doubt that your Grandma knows she is loved. Sending love and comfort to you and your family in these difficult days.Thank you so much guys, this is the last thing I thought would happen when we moved her into the nursing home last Thursday. She had a major Stroke on Sat and I have been by her side in hospital ever since. She was transfered yesterday back to the hospital wing of the nursing home for her final days.
I wanted to give her so much more... Grandma (93) and my Nana (96) were both so ecstatic to be in the same facility... and Grandma had actually used her walker to go visit my Nana in her room the day of the Stroke... they had a wonderful visit.
My Nana is also so heartbroken, she has been to visit her in her room and on the day she came (yesterday) Grandma woke up enough to say "hello, I have missed you."
She has been sleeping/in a coma since then until late tonight... I have just gotten back from her bedside (it's 2:00am here) and we had the most wonderful moment. All day I've thought... this is it, she is too far under and probably won't come back up this time and Mum and I were sitting with her when the nurses turned her.. and she woke up and just stared into my eyes... I spoke to her and she said... "hello cheeky monkey", I said "I love you Grandma" and she said "I love you so much." Oh man, I was dropping big fat teardrops all over her...
She is no longer taking any nourishment or fluids so this was a very special moment in time... I'm going to treasure it forever.
Thank you again everyone... I just so badly want her to be comfortable and not afraid.

Prayers being said for Flakes and gramma - hope all are doing betterHey everyone, flakers has asked me to ask all of you to share some good vibes and prayers for her grandma. She had just moved into a nursing home and had a stroke! Rushed to hospital a few days ago, but now back in her nursing home. Will you send good thoughts that she will not be in pain or be frightened?
Flake can say more when she has time. The girl is running ragged!
