My parents have been gone awhile now. My mother left suddenly but my father lingered with an illness for a long time. We battled almost daily on what he felt he could do and what I knew he could not. This is a complete reversal of the roles of the child and the parent(s). It is a shock and it can be hard to bear.
Our bodies fail us when we come to the end of the path and, if we are lucky enough, our families will help us on our journey into the Light.

If I might be so bold as to ask for a brief thought for my parents. My father was taken to the hospital for a kidney problem (he's 93) leaving my Mother without his care for her (she's 90 and physically unwell) and now both are........well, I'm not quite sure to be honest. My sister called and said I needed to come. Be prepared she said. My Father apparently has lost his grip on reality. Mom cannot be on her own. They are in a retirement community that does over assisted living arrangements so that is what my Sister, my Brother and I will be looking into. My parents have been inseparable. My Mother is already saying she will not go, will not leave her apartment to go to that "other wing", she's having difficulty focusing too according to my Sister.

I'll be driving the eight to nine hour drive (with no traffic) starting either this afternoon or very early in the AM. I'll check in if I'm able. Funny..you think you are prepared for this happening...you've told yourself it's coming.......Mom and Dad are OLD, but I'm still scared to death.......

Hey everyone, flakers has asked me to ask all of you to share some good vibes and prayers for her grandma. She had just moved into a nursing home and had a stroke! Rushed to hospital a few days ago, but now back in her nursing home. Will you send good thoughts that she will not be in pain or be frightened?

Flake can say more when she has time. The girl is running ragged!

Flake grandma, and all in need are in my thoughts and prayers.
Things are not great in Nomik land, it all seems trivial right now. It's not though. I have a lot on my plate right now and sometimes I wish that I had a human being to talk to. I communicate spiritually on a daily basis. Verbal communication is often they best arena for processing my crap. I just don't have that option right now.
