Not everyone is Tom Cruise or Meryl Streep. So, I say an actor that doesn't get the recognition but is brilliant is Brian Dennehy. Female wise, I'd say Laura Linney.

Borgnine was great in the original Flight of the Phoenix.Ernest Borgnine,I saw him in Marty the other day..he did such a good, believable job as lonely, sad, but good hearted man who finds someone like him..and many other movies he was in,From Here to Eternity,The Poseidon Adventure, heck even Escape From NY..
She is in one of my favorite little movies --The Four Seasons.Carol Burnett. Wonderful comedian with some outstanding serious roles as well.
Dean Martin. Oh, he's recognized as the coolest Rat in the Pack, can sing like a madman, and then there's all that comedy stuff he did with Jerry and Frank. But he could deal some straight fine acting when he wanted to. And whatever role, his characters always seemed real. And usually drunk.
Here's to ol Dino.
Saw him last night in Invasion of the Body SnatchersUnderrated: Donald Sutherland. He can do any type of role, adds to every ensemble, but he rarely gets recognition.
