:D Yep, my computer has a tendency to decide that it knows what I meant to say better than I do, and I have no idea how to turn that function off. Works for me anyway--fall food is my favorite! Last night we had slow cooked chicken and noodles, today a tart (or maybe a rustic pie)… stews, pumpkin bread, baked apples, fresh doughnuts… all coming up.
Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my chin. ;-D I swear every bleeping year I put on at least 10 pounds between now and January when I begin my annual diet to take it back off again.

HAHA! Chicken & noodles can be my downfall, so I don't make it often. Grandma's recipe, with homemade noodles, creamy sauce, n'everthing. I could eat an entire pot by myself. I've tried to save myself by substituting fat free canned milk for the cream, but who am I fooling?

Lots of color here but not at the peak of the season...today it gorgeous...sun shining, some breeze, a warm breeze. I can hear the neighbor cutting his grass...garden is done for the most...carrots still out there...could pick the green tomatoes left and make pickles if I had time. what am I doing here? kahvi aiga. Must be close to 70 out there and that is the forecast for the week...sun and 70s. Was working in Laurium, Boundary Street?...this old buck walks by...lots of older people out and about...anyway, he stops across the street as I'm on the stepladder leaning against the house wrapping windows with aluminum...hollers something that I took to mean weather. Yeah! you betcha, hey! This could last 'til October I won't complain! Yah! And then warm up! Heh! I laughed and it made his day. You bet...warm up...fuggitabout what's coming.

Autumn is beginnings and endings and makes me very introspective. I always go deeper into my thoughts this time of year.
Mine do too but, overall, I believe it's a good thing. Autumn helps us come to terms with the circle of life. It's a time for deep reflection and to honor our loved ones who've gone into the clearing.

To welcome this first day of fall, I have some homemade potpourri simmering on the stove. It's a wonderful smell.

-- oak leaves
-- pine needles
-- dried rosemary
-- cinnamon stick
-- a cut-up apple

Yes, absolutely! Can you send me this recipe, how much of each ingredient? I would love my house to smell like this.

I didn't measure anything! I just filled a saucepan two-thirds full of water and threw in a handful each of oak leaves and pine needles. I cut an apple into chunks and added those (peel, seeds and all), dropped in a cinnamon stick, and sprinkled in about a tablespoon of rosemary. Bring it to a boil then simmer on a low setting. It really does smell great!

S'funny old weather here. Just started getting really chilly first thing. Then by mid morning, I'm taking off the tights and cardi and wishing I'd put on a lighter dress. Then by 5, I'm looking for my slippers. I do love this time of year though. Makes me chuckle when I hear women referring to getting their "winter clothes" out. My wardrobe is the same all year, just with the addition of more layers in the winter :)

Must be a great aroma. I take the CliffsNotes path and just burn Juniper Ridge Incenses. :)
