The title has been altered to End of Watch now.

That is probably a better title than the original one

Use of the SKMB is a privilege. Members show respect towards each other, especially toward the provider of the site. Flaming is not an acceptable behavior.

Who is the "provider" of this site and how did I show any disrespect towards them? If you mean explaining the difference between a Steve and a Stevie, I calls 'em as I sees 'em. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm obviously a nerd too, but that doesn't mean I deny that there are such things as nerds or that nerds are not, in fact, nerds.

P.S. Thanks for the Elmore Leonard tip. Another great writer whose stuff there is no way I will ever read all of.

Mr. Stephen King is the person who provides this site. So perhaps people took your comment the wrong way, that is all

Not to worry - we just try to be respectful to one another and expect others to be the same.

Welcome to the SKMB Erudite Scholar and I hope you enjoy posting here - it's a great place to visit!

Stephen King pays for this website. [the provider]

It was perhaps in the delivery? Also I guess, if you receive information that would refute heretofore knowledge of something, opening your mind up to it just a little bit, couldn't possibly hurt? :biggrin2:

Perhaps book-types are often named "Stevie" rather than Steve... but this Stephen, doesn't like being called that and has made it clear to his PA, so I just passed that on to you.... as you seemed to be using it as a taunt, lets say.

Now, can we please get back to the business of not insulting people? :)

My point is that nobody who is called Stevie likes to be called Stevie, but them's the breaks. I will admit that I was indeed taunting the goof who dared to tell me what pet nicknames I am and am not allowed to use. That angers me as it would anger any right-thinking person. Thus far, I am the only person on this thread who has been outright insulted by repeatedly being told not to "fight" when I haven't been throwing punches. When I throw a punch - verbal or otherwise - you will know it. Maybe you really are only 11 years old after all. Precocious but far from wise to the ways of the world.

Erudite.. I do hope you like it here. There are some wonderful members here on the board. Communicating can be hard behind a keyboard.. people can take things the wrong way, very easily, as we all know. I hope you try again.
Welcome to SKMB .. where we are 'all' nerds AND we all float!

Well it's a damn shame that many of the immature people who are in the habit of "misunderstanding" things (read: picking fights and starting fights where none existed before) and getting butthurt are also moderators. Lamentably, I see that this site is no different. Gotta say, I am not impressed. It's a shame too because I'm a smart and knowledgeable guy. From a class I took years ago on Fascism and Communism (I got an A), one thing the instructor said which has always stuck with me: true believers have no sense of humor and the absolute inability to see things any other way.
