Hi!

How did you get to be here? On this forum?

After I finished reading Under the Dome I had some things I wanted to discuss. I Googled Stephen King and this site came up. I clicked on it, went to the message board read a few threads/posts and I was hooked! Signed up as a member as voila! Here I am.

So, tell us. How did you come to be here?

Thank you.

Peace.

My story is exactly like yours. I found the site after reading Under The Dome. I didn't come to post as much as to read the other comments on the novel. I think I went to the main site and found the message board through the link. I may have made one or two posts and then lurked for a long time before jumping in. I think I didn't post for a long time because I didn't understand the moderated board. I remember making a post and not seeing it and gave up on posting until I realized how it worked. I obviously didn't read the FAQ first like I was supposed to. =D

I'm unsure of the year that I first found this place (the original, non-threaded MB) but it was probably about 6 months before I started my daily lurking, so possibly the end of '03' or the very beginning of '04'.
I had wanted to know whether or not "Opopanax" (as in feather, Wolves of the Calla) was a real thing. So, I Googled it. (I barely knew how to use a computer/had very little access to one back then.)
Anyway, one of the hits I got was this place. So, I posted a question to Marsha... and couldn't find a reply, (Flake noob!) so floated away for a couple of months.
Something else Dark Tower-related (it was my first time on the path) drew me back in '04'... and I just read posts for a number of months (was terrified of joining in) until one day, I just gave it a go. (Probably the beginning of '05'?)
Once I started, I was very quickly hooked--this place was like a drug, well, actually it was more of a refuge... and it has come to mean so much to me over the years.

And how long have you been the chocolate loving moderator we all love?

I Think it was 2008 or around that time, it just occured to me to check if SK had his own site and I stumbled upon the board. I did lurk for a couple of years though. I was never one for forums ( I never visit any other forums ) but I found on here what I thought was impossible on the internet, just a lovely group of people with mostly just nice things to say and actually looking out for each others and I was hooked too.

We were so uncertain of different mods. Say sorry for doubting Ms. Mod..... You are great..
We were so uncertain ourselves at first, it was a huge learning curve, going from being a member, to a tester, to a position of huge responsibility. Marsha is a brilliant teacher though, so we knew we were in good hands.
(thank you :) )

I joined in December 2011. 11/22/63 released the month before and I was blown away by it. It wasn't my first SK book, but I was still in the infancy of my Constant Reader life. Not sure how I found you guys, but I am ever so glad I did. I've met so many wonderful people here and made so many memories!
