I am reading a Barbara Vine novel at the moment, aka Ruth Rendell. Just want to read in the sun!!! Has anyone seen the Murder In Mind, BBC series, about ten years old or more, the stories written by Anthony Horowitz. Excellent, excellent series!! Creepy and clever. No detectives etc involved, just one-off stand alone stories, called Passion, Landlord, Motive, etc. Really different!!

oh no, warm sunny day, went to my local casino and blew four hundred buckeroos. Felt like crap, put in a final ten bucks and won four hundred back in one foul swoop. Stupid and lucky, and vice versa. Got carried away and glazed over. Lesson learned!! Don't go at all or go with a very limited amount, then leave. Don't chase losses!!

Yesterday and the day before the wind has blown like h*ll here in the great plains of Kansas, if we didn't farm the way we do there would be another great dust bowl. The skies were dark with dirt, and what flowers I have blooming were holding on to their petals for dear life. I opened the office and lost the door and it whammied against the crip rail, then my open/close sign blew down the street, I could just catch up with it and then a gust would take it further away from me, grrr...then on my way back out to head to the second location, I sat my bag of trash down to lock the office door and that blew down the street, broke open and was caught in the residential neighbors bushes...I had a bad word for every piece of trash I plucked out of those bushes too. Today is clear skies, not a breath of wind, and I seriously am hoping it stays that way, and they think it's windy in Chicago ha!

Holy crap! I thought I saw lightning earlier in the evening when Becky was raking the backyard. Dark clouds and stuff...sorta warmish but could not believe it. That is summer weather. Apparently not! WTF is going on, eh? No winter to speak of, 81 degrees in April??????
Wind warning in effect for:
  • City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Northwest winds of 60 gusting to 90 km/h will develop over central and eastern Alberta overnight thanks to a fast-moving weather system over northern Alberta. Winds are expected to increase around midnight and gusts in excess of 90 km/h will last until late Saturday morning or early afternoon.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to storm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ABStorm.

Dorothy was from Kansas...is it all flat? sorry, just a random question...
No it's not all flat, western Kansas/Colorado line is flat...nothing to look at for miles, the middle of Kansas has more trees, water (lakes & rivers), and the flint hills are really pretty they look like I would imagine Ireland looking, the fields in that area are lined with limestone fence posts, eastern Kansas has even more water and trees, and has large rolling hills. We live beside a the 3rd largest lake in Kansas fishing is good, and there is a lot of limestone here (which is full of fossils), we have a lot of deer, turkey and pheasants in our area, and I had a bobcat walk up on me last fall! People that don't live here call us "flatlanders" but the people who live here don't understand why lol!!!
