Cori, we have closed Hot Topics for a reason. When it opens Monday, you can re post your thoughts regarding the election there and then.

Cori's posts were around a lot longer than mine. My post was not an anti-Trump rant and was deleted within minutes.
All the Political Hot Tops are being closed when Marsha is off duty. Not just the ones concerning the election. A gentle reminder- the volunteer mods moderate as their schedule permits. Thus there might be longer spans at times for a moderation to occur. Just save "all" political posting until Marsha is on duty.
We are only human. We do miss things. I just happened to be on when your post went up, that's why it disappear in minutes.
THe political threads were closed for a reason. That doesn't mean everyone can bring them over to the main board.
And, if you follow that particular post back, Jojo was making a comment about a shooting. So, just to be fair, I will delete everyone's post on that topic.
No worries. I mean it that I appreciate the extra set of eyes. We aren't here 24/7 so things do get through that shouldn't. You were right to bring them to my attention.
...not entirely luv....I would be just as content if the politics were left closed. ..to many hurt feelings and rancor...I know it's not the fair thing to do...but it is the right thing...
I agree, but, not my monkeys, not my circus.
Just so everyone does know, we try very hard to make sure things are where they are supposed to be. For instance, I could come in and it tells me there are 200 unchecked posts. Let's say I go to Chattery Teeth, and it breaks it down to how many in what threads of that 200 is in that area.
And again, let's say Random Thoughts has 20 new posts for me to read. As soon as I click on that thread, it automatically marks things read and checked, even though I haven't read a single one yet. So, if I get interrupted by other business, it is very easy to come back 40 minutes later and not be sure where I left off, when I've been working on other problems and other areas of the board. Or to completely forget that area didn't get completely swept.
So, not sure if you guys see that or not, but it can say this post was checked by so and so, but, it may be one of those that fell in the crack of what exactly got read.
Usually, someone points things out, or one of the other moderators picks up on it and we do try to fix those things.
Just letting you know there are reasons things do sneak by and others don't. It just depends on what is going on behind the scenes, how many posts, who is on duty, if they have to leave quickly for personal reasons -- many factors go into this. And the fact I'm even here every weekend for 3 years to keep this board open during that time should be remembered.
Dana Jean -- you are appreciated more than you know. The mods, volunteer and MsMod go way beyond the norm to keep us Constant Readers happy. Moderating is not an easy position-- the volume of posts, keeping all members happy, yet in line. It can be considered a near impossible task- yet you all pull it off. So a big thank you.
...and I meant no criticism-you know that....your presence here is an often thankless task, but it doesn't go unappreciated or unnoticed by the resident GNT....I'm your bouncer remember....
Oh no, absolutely I knew that. Wasn't directing my post at anyone, but just making a general comment as it seems people don't understand how one post gets through and another doesn't when there are many causes for that to happen. It usually gets caught eventually, and sometimes it just gets buried in the threads.
The thing is, just talk to me. Let me know when I'm on duty when you see something that you (royal you) have a question about. I'm more than happy to help or fix.
Sometimes the animosity in a post is baffling. And again, this happens many times and the tone could just be a misunderstanding in the internet world.
Not yet. I'm still trying to decide if the dust has settled enough but may continue to keep it closed during the evening/weekend hours.
