A happy unexpected moment today.

I had to go to the store. beah. There was a couple of bikes tossed out in front of it.

Got to the counter to see a two little boys, could not have been more that eight years old. Dirty elbows on counter. Had sodas, and counting out a pile of change for the cashier.
One tousled hair, freckled and missing front tooth getting elbowed from his pal to hurry up.

It looked right out of the Losers Club or Norman Rockwell. I could not help but smile. Cashier too after they ribbed and poked each other and took off on bikes.

It was great to see and we spoke on it.

Best part was when another store employee said - "yea? You should have seen what they did to that shelf back there."

Cashier lady and I smiled harder. It's the little things.

I am happy because I have tickets to go to a baseball game. Because of the time and distance, I cannot eat dinner before going to the game. But other than prepackaged candy.....nothing I can trust to be allergen free for me at the dome.

So I sent an e-mail asking how to get permission to bring some food and a drink for myself. Within 5 minutes I got a response asking that the food be in something that it won't spill out of. Drink must be in plastic containers, not larger than 600 ml. And no alcohol.

How awesome! I don't have to choose between eating or breathing. :D

I do still have to worry if people around me are shelling peanuts, buts that's not quite as prevalent here as I think it is in the US. (Yes, the dust from the shells has enough protein to cause a reaction if breathed in.) We have an aisle seat, so if necessary I'll seat in the end seat.

Follow up to my last post....

Doubly happy because nobody close to me was shelling peanuts.

FYI, peanuts are not as big a part of the baseball experience in Canada as it seems to be in the US, but some do buy them in the shell and drop the shells on the floor. For me, that can result in anaphylaxis. I have never asked anyone not to eat them though. One time my husband noticed the person beside me was about the open a bag, so he and I switched seats. The guy with the peanuts looked at me like I'd grown a third eye, so I just said I was putting an extra seat between me and his nuts. He then switched seats with the person he was with, so 2 seats between us. But then he just shook his head and said he'd eat them when he got home. I appreciated it....but I had not asked or been rude.

So the game last week, I had looked around for any empty seats in case I needed to move, but fortunately, they all needed their hands for beer. ;)

When we were leaving there was a portably EMS right by my section which I pointed out to DH. I laughed and said they must have checked my tickets when I asked about bringing my own food. Lol.

Got my grades for the Marketing and Business Technology classes I just finished. A's in both! This was despite crappy team members for my Marketing project. SwiftDogs are wicked smaht!
I loathe team projects. And when it comes to give grades to my fellow team members, if they were f**k ups, I flunk them.

Hi there everyone!!! Been away for a long time , but happy to be able to post something positive today. Last few months have been quite rough. I had a minor surgery in june, because of liver problems. I have been to the hospital for a week in january because of big nasty pains, but now everything is doing better. My hubby just got a back surgery again 2 weeks ago. This was his 8th one. He's recovering home right now, but he can't do much by himself, so we are back to the ''corset'' again and I have to help him a lot with things. But he's doing better every day. I have time for writing and currently writing a novel in my spare times. It's fine. My health is good, so I can help Ray with his recovery. Sorry, but not much time to be here, but I still am a SK fan forever. Hope you guys are all spending a great summer. Take care all!!!
