Hi All. I turned in my two weeks notice on Saturday so June 3rd will be my last day of employment. I have no job lined up to go to. I finally reached the point where I could not take any more of the stupidity of management and stress that this job involves. Plus, my manager basically called me a liar on the walkie-talkie headsets that everyone wears and even after it being pointed out to him by another employee that he was in the wrong (I wasn't lying) he didn't have the decency to apologize to me for his mistake. Sorry, but one of my main credos in life is don't call me a liar. I cannot work for someone who obviously doesn't think very highly of me or respect me. Many of you know that I have not been happy at my job for quite some time. My inner voice tells me it's time to move on and that's what I'm doing. There's so many things wrong with this job and company and I'm not going to have a mental breakdown because of a job. I'm scared out of my mind as I'm a 57 year old male with limited skills so I don't know what's going to happen in the next few months but I intend to give it my best. I'm going to need as many well wishes and happy thoughts that you all can spare. Thanks for 'listening'.

Inner voices are paths to the spirit. Your health and mental being is prime. A nervous breakdown, or going postal is not an option. Firm believer that there are no accidents- things happen for a reason. You have skills you are probably not even aware of. Take some time, make a list of what you need from a job/ vs what you want. Will be manifesting for your new path/job. You keep us posted. Only positives as you move forward, as the old job appeared to be filled with negativeness and only backwards. Love and green lights all the way!!

Bravo!! You know what you can take and what you are prepared for. I have faith that something much better is on the way for you! Doesn't it feel great to know it's almost over? I've been there a time or two!!
Thank you! I'm am now in the 'I just don't give a sh*t' mode at work. I'm happy but nervous about what I've done but it had to happen now.

Wishing you all the best in finding another job well before it becomes a money problem! Ditto to what Spidey said--you deserve much better than how you've been treated.

Thank you, Marsha. I agree- I do deserve better and why I let it go on for so long is something that I question. Sure, the money is good and I have good benefits like insurance, 401K, etc. but my mind and spiritual health is on the line so it's time to go forward. I can always sell of one or two of my King limited books if it comes down to it. :O_O:

Best of luck to you. You're a lot older than me (I'll be 56 soon) ;-D but I understand. There are a lot of companies that like people our age because we are awesome and dependable.

Thank you! I'm one of the most dependable employees out there, but that doesn't seem to matter where I work. Too bad for them.

Thank you, Linda! Who knows, since I'm going to go to Minneapolis on Thursday for my Prince/Paisley Park excursions, maybe they'll need another tour guide and I could just move and work at PP? Wouldn't that be cool?!

I am facing a similar situation at work. I am 56 years old and at my place of employment I know for a fact that they want anyone over 40ish gone. I actually understand that to a point, but it's the way certain higher ups go about handling it that is wrong. Do you think your age has anything to do with the way you are treated at your job kingricefan?

Holding you in love and hugs and constant prayers, kingricefan. Ditto what everybody said but please don't postpone that glorious embrace into the perfect job for you. I have done just that (procrastinated) in the past and missed out. Wouldn't want that to happen to you. Happy thoughts!
Thank you!

I don't think it's an age issue as my manager is the same age. He's just very moody and can be up and down 10 times in a day. He was an assistant manager who was forced to become a manager so that plays into his day-to-day outlook. I get that but it's not my fault and I'm not going to let anyone take things out on me with snide remarks, etc. He's also gay so it can't be anything like that either, unless he's jealous that I still look fabulous at our age......;-D
