I miss the days when I didn't have to dodge out of the way of some idiot that's texting on their cell phone while walking, not paying attention to what's in front of them. Hey, maybe someone should create an app that has a small window at the top of the cell phone screen that shows the texter what's in front of them? Now, there's an idea......

I miss the days when we would go over to Grandma's house on a Sunday, maybe once a month, and spend 4-5 hours there while her and my Mom would cook the Sunday meal together and we would all sit around the big table eating and talking. Sure, it was boring to me at the time but I sure miss it. If we visited there on a weed day Holiday, then we had to sit and watch all of Grandma's favorite soaps. Good times.

The arrows are pointing at you my friend. It's okay though at least you don't watch 16 and Pregnant reruns....
I didn't have to. My youngest, a couple of years ago while in middle school, had a teacher in a home economics class that appeared on the show (who even appeared on a second season). Some parents tried to get her fired as being a bad influence. I fought on the side to keep her employed in the district. I had some heated discussions with parents and my daughter lost some friends because of it.

Your district hires 16 year old teachers? :nope:

I totally agree.

Easter Saturday was Ber Hur. May Bank Holiday a James Bond film. Christmas Eve West Side Story (for some reason?????)

I also preferred it when food was seasonal. Citrus fruits the Christmas period when they were ripening off in Spain, Aspargus in late spring/early summer etc etc. Now you can walk into the supermarket any time of year and get anything but it tastes of nothing most of the time.

Hi!

What's up
The Wizard of Oz was always a special thing when I was growing up, too. When we were small, and it was getting close to that being on tv, my mom would make sure to have groceries put in big boxes at the store instead of paper bags. Then we would draw and color on them, make them into cars...headlights, doors, wheels, the Ford emblem. :D Then "drive" our cars to in front of the tv, and watch like we were at the drive in. Complete with snacks. ;-D

Hey Cat!

This sounds so cool. :blues: I wouldn't mind sitting in a tricked out cardboard box (Yes, Out of Order DiO'Bolic it would have to be a box of industrial size. :p) and watch TV.

Hugs to you and the little ones.

I like having the On Demand feature, but I get what you all are saying. Watching a movie or a show together as a family is very special and I'm lucky (very lucky) that my kids still are able to be there to do it. Times change as do the shows. Now it's Game of Thrones that we all watch together along with a few others like Survivor for example. Rudolph, The Grinch (with Boris not that Jim Carey thing) and of course Charlie Brown Pumpkin and Christmas are a few of the shows we still don't miss when they air just like when the kids were small.

Hi!

Did you get the chance to watch this old school Christmas show?

I think it got pulled a while back. I haven't seen it in years. :(

You know, I'm drawing a blank on that one. I'll have to ask my daughter. I'm familiar with the story, but I'm not sure about the cartoon. Good find Siggy.

Oh and I'll be on the lookout for a big box for you..........:p

Hi sir.

We would go up to my paternal grandparents every other Christmas. Grandpa would slaughter a hog and there was some good eating for days. (Don't eat the morcilla! Good rule of thumb: If your parents won't tell you what it is, don't eat it. :barf:)

BTW: Morcilla is blood sausage like this

But Grandma made hers like this

And once again, one of our threads has turned to pig parts. I'd prefer bacon, thanks!;;D

((Siggy)) Peace.=D
