Well, I am a whopping 36 hours from the start of my first ever vacation. Not that I'll do anything, really. But seven consecutive days of not being at work and getting paid for it is fine with me.

Lake of the Woods in Ontario? That is really nice - beautiful scenery.
A good friend of mine owns a cabin there - it is right up in the woods with a long staircase coming up from the dock.
Ooops - edit = all I saw was Lake of the Woods, not the part about it being a joke
By the way - if you do get a chance to go to Lake of the Woods you should go! It's quite nice and very relaxing - sort of "semi-isolated".
We can only get to my friend's cabin by boat.
p.s. I love your little dog up there - nice looking Dachshund.

From about mid to end November through to around April or May (depending on the season) it definitely gets quite cold here.
Most people open up their cottages on the long weekend in May[usually the 3rd week] and then close them against by Canadian Thanksgiving (this year I think it is on October 12th).
I do have to say
I do have to SaY your lake of the woods and mine sound similar. People own cabins at lake of the woods Oregon to. If it us warm again tomorrow I will go again and try to get more picture. It is cold water and I can't really swim with my shoulder injury but it sure feels great to just sink under water lol and come back up. Oh and is that a dachshund dog? I don't know much about little dogs but I love th dog already and it has only been a few weeks since I got him. He is up there in age I just wanted him to have a happy rest of his life

I think for sure that's a Dachshund or Dachshund mix.
Yeah it's a dachshund it has been confirmed by my mom who calls him dwiener shnitzel although I am sure I'm spelling that wrong
It has smaller ears than I've seen on a dachshund ... however, the pictures are both dark and not showing the whole doggy. It has that wiener dog face for sure. So glad you have given it a home with lots of love.
