What really ticked me off was that I think it was the year after I graduated that they changed the dress code so that girls could wear slacks. I think they were hoping they'd go for them rather than the micro minis that were in style. We had to do the does the hem touch the seat test if they thought our skirts were too short--we had to get on the seat on our knees and keep our back straight so we weren't cheating by getting the hem to touch by slouching.
It was much easier for boys. Black pants, white shirt and a bow tie. As I recall the nuns were much stricter on the girls attire and put them through the ringer at times. Sister Mary of the Sadistic Order of Beatings being the worst.
