So sorry to hear this aussie12 I hope the news is the best possible and treatment quick with as little suffering as possible.

Also, shaitan, I hope your treatments are successful and with as little suffering as possible.

{{{{hugs}}}} to you both.

AnnaMarie,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm half way done with my treatments (4 sessions to go). I'm scheduled for a PET scan this coming Wednesday 09/16 and it will show whether the treatment is helping or not. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks again.

Aussie12,
Our thoughts are with you. I'm undergoing chemo myself right now (Hodgkin's) and I know firsthand what a nasty business this is. Allow me, on behalf of all board members, wish you a speedy recovery. Stay strong and never lose hope.

Sorry to hear you're going through this, chemo can be so hard to deal with... good luck with your upcoming PET and I hope you will have good health again soon.

Thanks, FlakeNoir.
The side effects of chemo are pretty nasty. They give you pills for those, but the pills have side effects of their own.

Aussie,
You have a tough stretch ahead of you. When I say stay strong, I mean it. There will be days when you'll be in bed for 23 hours, sleeping 12 of them. Drinking a lot of liquids and changing your diet drastically helps a lot - no spicy food (your GI will be a wreck for the duration of the treatment); no alcohol; less meat, more greens; lots of fruits and veggies; skip cured or smoked meats.
Don't worry about your hair either - it's the least of your worries right now, it'll grow back anyway.
The most important thing is support, knowing someone is there for you. Every kind word helps, trust me on that.
Last but not least, stay positive. We're rooting for you.

Hi all
I posted on one of the other threads that I had Breast Cancer in 2012. After suffering severe pain I ended up having major surgery on 27th August, I had bowel cancer plus had my ovaries out. Not 100% sure yet if I had ovarian cancer as well, I go back to my Surgeon on Tuesday to get full pathology results. Last time I didn't need chemo but I will need it this time. I also have a Colonosonmy bag for 6 months yuck.
I was in hospital for nearly 2 weeks and just got out on Monday, still feeling tired and sore. I probably won't go back to work for about 6 weeks.
I've just been catching up on this board as haven't been on for a while.
Hope that everyone has a good weekend.
I'm sorry to hear all this! Prayers for your healing! Rest well and heal.

Hi all
Thanks everyone for your kind words, it means a lot to me. Lowman, Pegasus216 sorry to hear that you have both had cancer. Shaitan thanks so much for your advice and best wishes for your treatments. I've been so tired that I haven't been able to finish "Finder's Keeper's yet. I haven't got much of the book to go. I can't believe just how tired and sore I've been so far, hopefully next week I'll start to get some energy. Thanks everyone.
