Hi everyone, popping in very fast. The cleaning crunch is on.

We get a graduation ceremony, yesterday we learned only 2 tickets per senior. So only Scott and I will be going to the ceremony. Party next day.

Been busy this last week, we planted flowers outside, lots of yardwork. I have done a few things inside. Yesterday we took a day trip to the mountains. Tons of snow still! Where we camped last year, it was still on the road and all over the terrain. I wanted to see a darn moose, they are out and about and everyone but me sees them. But still no moose sighting for me. Oh and we had a bear roaming around in town last week too. Lily, who hates being around the water hose outside and only barely tolerates her baths decided the lake was A-OK. Went right in and frolicked. :D

Have a great day. I really hope I will get to be around, seeing as we are winding down here. Everyone is helping me today so hopefully we can get a bunch of the big stuff knocked out and I can handle the rest.

Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Oh, and little Miss Sage had her tonsils out this morning. Doing well so far but if you would throw some good healing vibes her way, it would be much appreciated! :love_heart:
How did the ceremony and party go?

...there will be few posts that I haven’t hit “like” on....not because I didn’t but because I’m on my dumb phone and it has that damn overlap...having to use it though cuz I’m in bed trying to wind down for a 4am start to another long day...schedule is going to screw me out of precious moments here...took my CoVid test today, should know by Thursday...little late in the game for the State to step up and do it, considering I’ve been wallering in the muck for months....

Horrible news about New Zealand, just heard that they had a few new cases, their first I believe. Wishing and praying for the best.
Really!? Yikes - I wonder what happened there?

Are they allowing international air travel still? I guess I will have to Google it
Two new New Zealand Covid cases from UK, Jacinda Ardern admits system 'failure'

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has admitted health officials' protocols failed to meet expectations after two new Covid-19 cases were revealed.

The two women, who travelled from Britain, were allowed to leave isolation in Auckland and take a road-trip to Wellington before undergoing Covid tests that turned out to be positive.

In a Facebook Live post on Tuesday evening, Ardern said standards had not been met.

"This case is clear - our expectations ... have not been met in this instance," she said.
The question is, why were these women allowed to travel to New Zealand?
You sound so stern and foreboding - not sure - you would have to read the whole article maybe - perhaps FlakeNoir would know

Wow - I just had a senior moment! I was trying to remember her name and all I could think of was "It's the one who likes chocolate"

Thanks for the thoughts... long story short(ish): We're still letting New Zealand citizens into the country but they're required to go into a compulsory quarantine in a monitored facility for a 14 day period. They're supposed to return a negative test at the end of quarantine before leaving the facility.
The 2 women came in from the UK on June 7th and went into quarantine. They applied for compassionate leave from the quarantine for a bereavement and as part of their conditions of the leave, they were be tested in the city they were travelling to at the end of their quarantine period. They returned positive tests.
There was a systematic failure in the procedures, they should never have left the quarantine facility without first returning a negative test. It was a f'k-up and now there are some 300+ people (identified as close contacts of the 2 women) going into self-isolation, having been tested and will remain until their test results come back.

Sigh. We knew it would be back at some point, but our borders are the point where we can stop this thing from taking hold, so really... we need to get this fixed and make sure it can't happen again.
Economically, we won't cope with another complete shut-down, so we have to not screw this up!

Thoughts are with you and all in NZ. Please stay safe. NZ has done so much to stop/ contain this virus. How I wish other "countries" would follow that example.

Thanks Spidey, we've been so lucky here with it all, compared with some countries we've just been really fortunate. I just hope we don't let it get away on us.

Horrible news. Whoever let these women leave should be disciplined.
