Rogue One on Christmas Eve. Loved it. Very well done, nicely constructed story, working the already-known characters in (in one case, amazingly so). Ended as I knew it must and the only way it could.

That last scene now hurts the heart, though.
Indeed!

I told my family that if we'd have watched it a few days earlier, I would have just cheered at the end. Instead, I cried!

In A Valley of Violence - great love letter to old school westerns. If you want to get the taste of the Magnificent Seven remake out of your mouth, this is the film for you.

Lights Out - not bad, worth a look.

The Accountant - another great Ben Affleck film.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe - surprisingly, one of the better horror offerings of the year. Don't let anyone spoil it for you.

Morgan - rubbish.

Diablo - not a bad story. Scott Eastwood finally caves and does a western. He still has a ways to go to be in his dad's league, but this is worth a look.

Hell or High Water - one of my faves of 2016.

Rogue One--Liked it a lot. There was a section in the middle that dragged a bit, but not a lot. I left thinking that George Lucas probably loved this one. Instead of the fawning throwback-to-the-original-movie scenes in The Force Awakens, Rogue One catches the spirit of Lucas' original. Not ashamed to say that I didn't have high expectations for this film, but I'm glad I was wrong. Well done!
