Jack Reacher-Never Go Back. I like it they didn't drift too far away from the first movie. Great one-liners from Tom Cruise. Nothing much new in the movie but I was kind of hoping they'd just stick with the formula and they seemed to. I'll be watching this one again probably this weekend if time permits.

Resident Evil : final chapter.

big fan of franchise, but this movie sucked big time

i'm on a back foot when i get into the cinema ten minutes late, but i realise i've missed nothing as the director has forgot the story line himself ( if there was one)

i'm straight into the dialog with red queen and alice thinking WTF- this is a story change , and then bang- we're straight to the zombie cattle hearding scene straight outta Walking dead where they try and entice the zombies away from alexander - only here they are collecting them in a stampeding army!

the scenes are cut together so quickly that you can't even sus out what is happening, no kidding. ten frames cut into 5 sec fist fight is pretty rapid. the entire movie is shot in shaky cam and the fodder alice meets on the way - well they die, who knew, who cares. you don't get to build up a care for them.

the scenes don't make sense, the editing beyond a joke.

hero stabs bad guy , leaves for dead in basement of hive - 80 stories below- takes turbo lift to surface - to find him standing there??????

what?

what what???

and when the last line "until then i will carry on"

makes me think we are not done with this mess!

that dollhouse at the end of the street
Skeleton Key

I really liked it. Great story idea and plot. Not a typical, predictable "horror" movie....

Skeleton Key has to be one of the most clever, unpredictable stories ever told, I thought it was brilliant, also the song that rolls with the credits at the end if you caught that too, its called Death Letter, truly a remarkable movie ! :smilet-digitalpoint:

I never watched the first one because I just couldn't picture Cruise as Jack Reacher. I guess I can get over it, but the preview didn't grab me. I'll take your word on this if I can catch it on cable. Do you read the Reacher books?

I've read several of them over the years, most of them I liked quite a bit. How Reacher is described in the book is definitely different from Tom Cruise's portrayal but the smart assed, one step ahead mentality of Reacher is captured pretty well by Cruise, imho.

Patriot Day

did i enjoy it ? Well the movie got me mad as hell, and quite emotional, cursing at the brothers and more the on screen police. While the Tsanaev brothers seemed ruthless and well coordinated - the police are portrayed like a bumbling bunch of gun ho keystone cops. Hardly a hat tip to their dedication.

the capture scene was glorified to extent i thought i was watching a die hard movie - and you can't tell me it happened that way- pipe bombs reigning down on the smokey and the bandit cop cars that looked like they were straight out of blues brothers stunt team.

i'm all for a film dedicated to the victims and the police - but this was heading to yippekayeee mutha funster territory.

too much hollywood for me, but i (enjoyed?) the movie .

Boston Strong.

Sheemie, does this mean we're not gonna get our outing? Nottie said she'd hotwire the schoolbus, GNT is captaining the ship and Muskrat and Neesy are in charge of entertainment. Watch out King Kon 2018...=D.
