I'm not a Nicole Kidman fan, don't really like Ewan MacGregor either and don't care for musicals. So, why did I watch this movie? Because it was on every critics 'best' list and everyone around me just raved and raved about it. I watched it. Eh. I liked Gatsby way better. I don't think you missed much, Morgan, IMHO.I've never seen Moulin Rouge.
I watched The Painted Veil the other day. I liked it a lot, but I think I like the book a little bit better. Naomi Watts and Edward Norton were great. I could watch Edward Norton in anything--I love how he transforms himself into his roles

I have not!! I think the last new movie I've seen him in was Moonrise Kingdom! After seeing Ed in Painted Veil, it made me want to rewatch American History X--love him in that film. Such a gripping performance.
I've seen American History X a few times-so disturbing! You really need to check out Leaves Of Grass (2009)-one of his lesser known titles, but an INCREDIBLE performance and a very interesting and bizarre story!
